I felt as Kiochi was saying good bye all episode. It’s sad but I think he is appreciating he has this ‘extra’ time to experience with his loved ones, specially a gradual goodbye to Mitchan that has lost so much. I don’t know how he would have handled the death + disappearance at the crash site.
