going on vacation! (Patreon)

hey everyone! i just paused the patreon campaign so i wanted to make a little explanation post to go along with it. i expected to do this in may, but i made basically no progress on my games for march, and something came up for april so... rather than continuing to deliver little-to-nothing, i figured i'd just pause the campaign early and come back once i'm all rested up!

plans going forward:

• the regularly scheduled patreon updates will stop until i am back in july. i will write another update post at that point so you'll know when you'll be charged next.

  • it's always the 1st, so you can expect august 1st for now

  • patreon only lets me pause it a month at a time, so sorry in advance if you get an email about the campaign being paused every month x_x

• during april i will be working on treat, with the goal of finishing another playable build by may 10th.

  • if i don't get very far with it, this will be a WIP build for patrons only, and include the next section of chapter 8 and more side content (the big spoilery kind!)

  • if i DO finish all the parts i want to, it will be a public build with only the new side content accessible (not the chapter 8 stuff. patrons will still get the full WIP build before the public one drops.)

  • the reason i want to do a public build if possible is because i added a feature that makes the side content a lot easier to reach, so i want people to be able to access the updated version without waiting until the end of this year lol

  • either way there will be no charge for this. aiming for may 10th, but i'll post as soon as it's ready.

• ALSO during april is a project that i signed an NDA for so i can't tell you what it is. this was just decided on in the last month or so, and i don't know how much work i'll be responsible for yet. it's very exciting. it will be many months before i can actually tell you about it.

• on may 15th i will be LEAVING ON A TRIP TO JAPAN!!!!!! i'm staying for a month and a half (OMG) to see friends in tokyo and osaka. i'll be coming home july 2nd.

  • the last time i visited japan (in 2015) i drew diary comics about the trip--i expect to do something similar or at least post updates in some form. i'd love to share my adventures.

  • i haven't gone on anything more than a day trip since before the pandemic, so this is like the big ultra-vacation to make up for lost time. i've been in a slump lately so i think this will do a lot to heal me.

  • honestly it's scary to be away from my work for so long... i will actually have my laptop with me so i'll be doing a minimal amount of work during my downtime (like answering emails and updating my website)

• i have A NEW WEBSITE where i will be sharing various updates in case you don't follow my cohost.

  • i spent most of this month working on the website (i didn't mean to, i was just having too much fun wahhh) so it's full of CONTENT.

  • the new site is hosted on neocities! i'll be transferring my domain name over once i finish adding a few more things to it. once it's transferred, the url should redirect to the right place.

• another piece of candy will continue to update during my trip, since i have the comics planned and will be able to finish them before i leave. no hiatus there!

  • it'll be the pastille catsitting for butterscotch series i drew like a year ago... i get to be butterscotch in this scenario ehehe

sorry this was so long, i guess i had a lot to say. i'll say even more when i'm back from my vacation...! i'll be writing more blog posts in the meantime too! look forward to all the things!!!
