Distant Gods
How can the landscape of the heart appear so foreign?

Pixelmotion gets the deluxe treatment again this month with a soundtrack and enhanced animation provided by Adobe After Effects. Starting to get into the workflow with this mixed animation style that blends frame animations made in Photoshop with smooth motion tweens in After Effects. There's also a lot of effects and animation tools I can exploit in AA. Excited about the potential of future scenes using this animation method. I also love making music and think it really enhances the experience.

As for this scene, I had the urge to make something a bit abstract. The concept is a spiritual landscape that reflects this inner world of the heart.  It's always a challenge to make strangeness appealing. Even I was uncomfortable and lost for a while trying to put together this scene that has no real reference point. In the end, I'm happy with how it came together with the music and all. It may be less approachable than an earthly scene, but I like to keep to fresh.

I believe the fact that this is not an earthly scene makes it even more appealing. I sure as heck don’t know what that green spongy-looking structure in the background is but I’d like to find out!
