Now that we're back from traveling, work on the upcoming The Exile of Aphrodisia sequel continues.

One of the new systems we're working on is to give players, companions, and followers form traits. These can be cosmetic/text-only traits such as whether your character has breasts, male or female genitalia--or some combination of the three! A stone golem body may have none of those, or a kinky demon body may have all three.

Other traits like Flying open up some new abilities both in battle and while adventuring. For example, in the start of the game there is a ruined tower that needs to be ascended. A hard task for a human, but trivial for a flying fairy. Additionally, the ability to fly will allow for better battlefield maneuverability, allowing for a combatant to simply fly over the heads of allies or enemies to traverse the battlefield.

The Fragile trait, however, is another, less beneficial trait that fairies have, which increases the physical damage they take and reduces their maximum hit points.

Small reduces the amount of physical damage that can be dealt, but also makes that combatant harder to hit, and may allow for exploration in places too cramped for regular human-sized party members.

We're also working on a crafting system where the party can mix certain ingredients found around Aphrodisia into potions that restore health, grant temporary bonuses, or even temporarily (or permanently!) transform a party member into a new body. Recipes will be taught by instructors, learned in quests, or discovered by reading books. Once the party has the ingredients and is at an appropriate crafting station (alchemy table, anvil, brewing keg, etc) the crafting process can begin.

Stay tuned for more!
