Transformation Tycoon V0.2.7--Available Now on Steam! (Patreon)

As mentioned earlier, we became a Steam partner, paid the deposit, put up a store and game build, and have been approved. As such, Transformation Tycoon is now available on Steam!

The current version is 0.2.7 which is the same as on Itch.io . Currently the gameplay is identical from the Itch version of the same number, the only change being the removal of the Patreon link on the front page (one of Valve's requirements is to not have any calls for donations in the game unless it's going through their own DLC system so they can take their cut of the profits. Disappointing.)

Here's a short Q&A that will hopefully address any questions.

Q: How much does Transformation Tycoon cost on Steam?

A: Free! Since it's already been out on Itch.io for free, the base game for the Steam release is and will continue to be free.

Q: I don't use Steam / am concerned about privacy. Will you continue to upload the latest game builds on Itch.io?

Absolutely. We know many players would prefer anonymity and not have an 18+ game on their Steam profile for friends or family to see. It is possible to hide games you own on Steam: https://www.howtogeek.com/434655/how-to-hide-the-games-youre-playing-on-steam/  

Q: Is the game the same as on the Itch.io version?

Yes. The only difference between the two builds is that the front page does not have the Patreon link on the Steam build as is required by Steam.

When new versions of the game are released, they will be released on Itch.io and Steam simultaneously.

In the future we may look into adding some features that Steam integration offers like cloud saves and achievements, and we may also experiment with some DLC that offers unique employees or story clients to help us eventually recover the $100 app deposit fee per game that Steam requires.

Q: Is the Cheat/Debug version of Transformation Tycoon on Steam?

Not currently. We may look into making that be a paid DLC costing the same amount as the current Patreon-backer $3 tier.
