The small wedding at Mer’s house is probably what Cristina felt most comfortable with. Remember in s3 when all she wanted was her and Burke at city hall hahah. Plus they’re all ofc still healing and hurting so very small and intimate is probably all they had it in them to do. I thought it was a cute scene!

Cristina needed to feel safe. She feels safe and merediths and Owen already demonstrated that he would put himself between her and harms way and she can't move forward without that being there. She isn't healed she is just trying not to completely slip away.

Yeah, I honestly couldn't tell when I first watched it if we were supposed to be weary of the wedding, or genuinely seeing it as a "silver lining" compared to the shooting, like Lexi said. But my 2023 eyes are leaning more towards that the writing intention was skepticism? Anyone else? Because I honestly can't tell sometimes with what's presented if what I feel is just what I feel or what the writers actually intend for viewers to take away, especially in these later seasons.

OMG YAY! Much needed after a bad day! And yes I loved that they didn’t just move on from the shooting and be casual. They addressed it in a realistic way. And Bailey said in the flight that she visited her parents for a month so it’s been a month from the shooting. Mertina always melt me, “Derek is the love of my life but you are my soulmate”!

I like the dichotomy of how owen and ben handled their partners after the shooting. They both did what they thought was best and most supportive of their women, but I think Ben did it right, while Owen did it wrong. Ben took baileys boundaries and honoured them. While Owen may have been trying to do the same, I think any sensible person would not agree with a marriage after a shooting. The ring should have been a symbol of his commitment to staying with Cristina and helping her through her trauma, the wedding can come later.
