Yeah, Jack does tend to shoulder too much of the responsibility. It's how he's built. He has that need to always try to save everyone, no matter what. It's both a good and bad trait to have in a surgeon. His dad is a total dick, though. Operating while under the influence of alcohol and trying to cover it up. Not only that, but he kept the fact that the woman he was operating on was pregnant from his own son! I remember his dad being an asshole, but not that much of an asshole! Yeah, I like Hurley, too

I don't remember all the details or the time-line of the things I do remember, but I do have memories of Charlie that haven't happened yet. So this had me confused!

I really saw Jack as worried trying to save Charlie and Claire , I guess I don’t see the asshole part , I do think he’s turned up to 100 all the time , probably feeling like he has to hold the responsibility especially being a surgeon/ doctor he automatically feels the responsibility to keep them alive especially a young pregnant woman.

A lot of times, when someone acts the way Jack did in this episode, it can definitely be perceived as him being an asshole. I look at it as Jack being an "accidental" asshole. He's so worried about them, that he doesn't know how he's coming off to others. He doesn't realize his remarks are so cutting to the others due to his worrying about Claire and Charlie. Anyways, just how I see it :)

That is definitely a trait to Jack's character, it's a good and bad thing but I will say in this case his obsession had more to do with guilt, he felt responsible, that if he had just believed Claire then she never would have left and sadly that is kind of true, lol. What always gets me about Jack's dad in this episode is him trying to charm his way out, by saying all the things that Jack wants to hear, he never gets any sort of affection from him and that shoulder touch was pure manipulation and Jack saw that when he watched him do it to the husband. I have always felt so bad that Jack to do that at the end, how difficult that would have been, him thinking he has lost his father. We know what happens to his dad so now Jack feels even more guilty about it, which he shouldn't, he did the right thing.

I just caught up on your Grey's reactions and Sheppard did that punch in the chest thing to bring Bailey's husband back. Look at Jack being McDreamy before McDreamy existed 🤣

'punching the sh*t out of somebody' can indeed bring them back lol. He's basically using his fist to perform a precordial thump, or a manual defibrillation. You can do it for someone before their heart stops too, when they are tachy. I have a heart condition so I had to learn all about these procedures. 😊
