I really wish you would have begun watching this movie saga in the release order, starting with Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It's too bad you started watching in chronological order, with Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace instead. Because I hoped to be able to request Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope for May. Honestly... Everyone's opinions on the best watch order are different. However, I feel that the release order is by far the better order to watch these movies in. Not in the chronological order. I think you grow to love these characters much easier if you start with the release order. But... C'est la vie! I guess I will now leave others to request more Star Wars from you in the months ahead instead, and choose different movies for you to enjoy. I hope you will come to love these movies the more you continue watching them, Travis. Thank you for this reaction to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, my friend! I look forward to watching it! And thank you too, Ilsuk! Sincerely, Heidi

Cadence

I agree. I was going to request it for May, but this request was already in. I grew up watching Machete Order, since watching 1-3 first takes away some of the impact from later ones. This is probably my first time watching it “1-6”. I know some people prefer this order. And thank you for starting him down this Rabbit hole Ilsuk 😂💙👍

Travis Manning

There was lots of opportunity to request them in a diff order previously I think lol

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

I do not understand the reasonings for watching these movies in the machete order. This bizarre order makes absolutely no sense to me. Why watch Episodes IV and V, then watch Episodes One, Two, and Three, and then go back to watching Episode VI? Oh well. To each their own. Heidi

Cadence

I grew up watching 4,5,6, skip 1, then watch 2,3. That’s what my mom said machete order was 😂.

Cadence

I completely forgot that Duel of The Fates is in this episode, I love it. (The music playing during the fight with Darth Maul)

Cadence

Idk honestly… my mom is a huge Star Wars fan (she even based my name on one of the actors names), she forced my sister and I to watch them, and apparently her (and a lot of people online) don’t think it’s as important to the overall story. I’m not like a huge fan of Star Wars over all, the only reason I’ve seen it is because of my mom, so I’ve never really questioned it before 🤷🏻.

Interesting. Again... Everyone certainly has different opinions on the best way to watch these movies. And none of them are wrong. They're our own opinions and preferences. I just prefer the release order, is all. And any other way feels wrong to me. That's just me. If you enjoy them in such a machete order, then great!

For anyone who wishes to continue to request these movies for Travis to enjoy from month to month... Since Chronological order has now been set for the watch order of this Star Wars saga, here is the order list... 1) Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 2) Star Wars Episode II: The Attack of the Clones 3) Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith 4) Solo: A Star Wars Story 5) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 6) Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope 7) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back 8) Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi 9) Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens 10) Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi 11) Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker To everyone requesting these movies... Please don't attempt to skip over any of these movies, or try going out of this newly set order, just in case there are any of these movies you don't like. I know some of these later movies are not very popular, or widely liked by most Star Wars fans. However, this watch order really should be watched as it is now set. I hope you all understand. Heidi

The actress who plays Queen Amedala’s decoy is actually Keira Knightly known best from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Natalie Portman is the true Queen, also known as Padme. Both actresses do very much look alike. Or at least they did back in their early acting days. And this movie was absolutely early on in both of their careers. Heidi

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

You're definitely not crazy, Travis. Ha! Ha! Ha! :) This is why both actresses were perfect for these roles. Because they did look so much alike back then. And Keira Knightly does a fantastic job acting just as Natalie Portman does while she acts in the role of the Queen and not Padme. Heidi

I know, but I wanted to give you the opportunity to finish watching each of the Star Trek movies within the Star Trek Trilogy first. And since you're doing so by the end of this month, I couldn't request Star Wars until next month. So yeah... I missed out. I hoped to be able to introduce you to Star Wars by requesting A New Hope for you in May like I spoke with you about in a few of our messages to one another. But it's really okay. I'm happy someone else who loves Star Wars too was able to begin requesting these beloved movies for you. Maybe I can request another of my favorite among all of the movies outside of the Original Trilogy, when you get to it within the watch order. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. And then... I absolutely would love to begin requesting my absolute favorite among the Star Wars TV shows that is set just before Rogue One, titled... Andor. It's a phenomenal show, and it's by far the best show among all of the Star Wars TV series. In my opinion, of course. :) Heidi

You're welcome Heidi and Cadence! So, I won't be requesting Star Wars for May, so if someone wants to request the next movie for May, you can. Yeah, the order of the movies depends on a lot of different things. I grew up watching the original trilogy (pretty sure Episode 4 was the first movie I saw in theaters, but not during the original run as I wasn't born yet 🤣), but, ever since the prequels came out, I watch it 1-6, but that's just me. Machete order makes zero sense to me, too

Ilsuk Yang

And now I don't have to make this comment. Good on ya for doing this Heidi!

Ilsuk Yang

Yup, I finally requested Star Wars! So, this movie came out in 1999, Episode 2 came out in 2002, and Episode 3 came out in 2005. For the first 2 Star Wars trilogies, the movies came out every 3 years with a big hiatus between Episodes 6 and 1 (Episode 6 came out in 1983). Then, there was another big hiatus between Episodes 3 and 7 (Episode 7 came out in 2015). Starting with Episode 7 (now under Disney), each numbered Star Wars movie came out every 2 years. It's all confusing, I know 🤣🤣🤣 So, any time you see the Jedi or Sith do anything fantastical (that a normal human wouldn't be able to do) they're using the Force, which you will learn more about as you watch this series of movies. So, the super speed Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan use at the beginning of the movie to escape the droid dekas (probably misspelled that 🤣), the ridiculously high jump Obi-Wan used to rejoin the fight against Darth Maul, Anakin's enhanced reflexes, and the telekinetic (moving objects with your mind) and telepathic abilities displayed in the movie are all due to the Force. There's a lot of heavy hitters in this movie as you saw. The first time I saw this movie, I too thought that Qui-Gon would be the main character. Then he died. I agree that the kid playing Anakin is a bad actor in this movie. He's definitely over-acting and just doesn't feel natural or realistic at all. George Lucas, visionary that he is, was terrible with dialog and scriptwriting. I do think that each movie in the prequel trilogy gets better as you go along. So, you're right about the real queen being Natalie Portman and the decoy queen being played by a different actress (Keira Knightley). Interesting fact, when the two young ladies (who were very young at the time, especially Knightley) were in full wardrobe and makeup, their own mothers couldn't tell them apart. One mother would be talking to a girl they thought was their daughter until something would tip them off about the encounter 🤣🤣🤣. About the amount of action, well, I'll let you watch the next one and figure out for yourself ;)

EmmWork

I mean I like Star Wars and all but the order has never mattered to me. I’m just here for daddy McGregor 🤪

JIM SCHMITZ

Doing that order? I understand, but the spoiler for #5 & #6 in #3 always bothered me.

2023-04-26 21:17:14 An auspicious beginning to an iconic film franchise. You definitely are in the majority about Jar Jar. (voted worst Star Wars character of all time). I'm looking forward to this new journey, Mr. O.

But technically you could say watching the natural order spoils stuff from this series as well. Obviously I saw this in release order but i personally always wanted to see someone see them in this order to see their reaction to the twists and turns that lead to the original trilogy.

JIM SCHMITZ

I guess it's moot since he knows the main twist through memes already.
