Have you ever read or heard this little zinger by Guy de Maupassant, who also wrote the very scary classic “The Horla”? I recorded “Was It a Dream?” during the slow stretch of the holidays. Since the average wait time in line at the Amazon returns kiosk is about 13 minutes, this should be just long enough to get you through….

Coming later this month...

Honestly loved this one just a bit more than the Horla, but I suspect it is because it is so timely to imagine the horror of losing someone you love only to find that they were not who you thought they were. Skeletons and corpses aside, the truth can be dead scary.

This story made me want to dip into a great book, Ghostland, by Edward Parnell— I recommend it to all of you Knifepoint hounds. The writer marks different periods in his life through the lens of ghost stories, horror, and weird fiction (as well as some great films and television.) Blackwood, Lovecraft, James, Aickman, it’s got all the greats…it is a meditation on grief and loss as well. Sorry to hijack the thread but I think this crew would appreciate it.
