Meanwhile... author Candace Nola has started an interview series at www.uncomfortablydark.com and has included me, so head over there to find out which particular Patreon supporters I described as "the most pressing threat to our democracy since the end of the second world war"!

I've told myself again and again that the last three months of this year will be a time to focus on other types of writing, but my past record shows that I have a pathetic inability to set aside an idea for a horror story once it arrives so mysteriously and takes hold. After the October tale, I doubt there'll be another recording of the Knifepoint variety before January, but I and my 49 cent mini-notepad from Staples will still be in cahoots in some way, prepping for 2021 creepies.

The fifth volume of the transcripts, bringing everything up to date through 2020, should be available on Amazon by the second week of October. For those who'd like to download the PDF version for free, I'll have that ready too.

Every morning now I wake up and step outside in anticipation that this will the first day there's a genuine chill in the air. Even during a woefully ugly year out there, it's tough to keep from geeking out a little over the approach of fall. If I click on Google News tomorrow and see SCIENTISTS SAY COVID WILL DRAIN COLORS FROM AUTUMN LEAVES, I am going to lose it.

That's all for now... oh, wait, here's something fun: Longtime listener Jeffrey Young just sent me the image below. Visual depictions of the horrors depicted in the podcast are endlessly entertaining to me, and usually spookier than anything I originally envisioned....

Above: A visual depiction of the author's "creative process" over Labor Day weekend. Here, he pauses his eleventh viewing of "Zodiac" just long enough to get another bag of mini pretzels from the cupboard.
