Jonathan Goldstein

This wasn't just one of my favorite Knifepoint Horror episodes--this was one of my favorite Podcast episodes, period. I had a question, though. I notice that some of your stuff shares a universe ("Year of the Shining Cloud" and the "Savid Doud" stuff [by the way, is Savid Doud a typo that became a character's name, or was he always meant to be named that?]). The locations in here were so specifically named that I couldn't help but wonder if these were real places or if they were connected to other stories you've written or aim to write next. Would you care to shed some light on that? Thanks!

Soren Narnia

Hi there Jonathan---I treat the stories as wholly independent from each other, except sometimes I imagine that there's a strange piece of very thin black thread running through them all. The beginning and end of the thread can't be seen, so where it came from and where it's going is a mystery. And not even I know what it means. I hope to one day stumble across its significance, but I'm not sure I ever will. Once in a while I'll work in a very soft connection between the stories just to keep the thread alive. It could be that I'll yank on it someday and wham!--I'll see a way that all of the stories are really one. And THAT will be a fun tale to write ... as for Savid Doud, sometimes names pop into my head fully formed, and that's an example. Feel free to use it as the name of a favorite goldfish!
