Years ago, I was messing around with creating a Knifepoint Horror cover image by simply taking an old picture I found online and adding a human presence to it with some quick random slashes. The accidental result was this. For whatever reason, I find it completely disturbing. Who--or what--is that presence, which wound up being a little less human than I thought, and why is he/she/it merely staring at the house--or barn--or whatever that is? Is that a chair it's sitting in? Gahhhhhh!

More disturbing still is that I had completely forgotten about the picture until tonight, when I was rearranging computer files I haven't examined since God knows when. Almost as if it had been.... waiting.

UPDATE, 10/22: And then, seemingly out of nowhere, listener and entomologist Meredith Pounds creates this and sends it in....no sleep tonight, I'm afraid....

taking a close look at the figure, I'm seeing an exaggerated ribcage...or maybe the figure has been bound to the chair or whatever it is, forced to stare at the building

For me it brings to mind your story "fields"

Soren Narnia

I think I'm just gonna add a Target in the background before it gets any creepier.
