I've been wanting to redesign Biomancer for a while now. I've had it in my mind that it would serve the story better if she was maybe a bit... cuter? Like it's a much higher contrast between the character and the body horror that makes it a little more fun and unique. At the same time, I want her to be cute AND have an "action hero" kind of look to her. Someone that, when push comes to shove, she can take charge and do some really awesome stuff with her powers.

I think I'll keep exploring more designs for her though, as I think this is encroaching on Pretty Julie Technomancer's design a bit. I do think they both fill a similar niche of cute action protagonist but that doesn't mean they have to have the same fashion. Still, I do like this look.

At the same time, I wanted to keep pushing the visceral horror of the imagery. Most of the time we've seen monsters sprouting from her arms but there's a lot that can be done if they're sprouting from less elegant spots. Like bursting through her ribcage. It's... a very inconvenient and probably quite painful power to activate. I think her eyes will bleed when she's using it too.

Fortunately for her, she has pretty intense regenerative abilities. Otherwise she couldn't survive this power after all. Once the creature that has sprouted from her separates, her cells begin to reform her body as it was. Might mean she needs to find a new set of clothes though.

Ultimately, if she has to use her powers, she's not having a good day.

I can't get over how cool her general design and concept is. Definitely want to see more of her!

I've been playing a Mutants and Masterminds game using Biomancer's power set and a gag is how much clothes she goes through every time they are in a fight. Shes also sprouted dinos out of her face for a headbutt attack, which was awesome but left her looking like a zombie after. So unpleasant. Your art continues to delight and inspire!
