I don't think I posted this one anywhere! It was actually kinda nice!... If I did post it here before, I apologize for double dipping!

Anyway, there's a worthwhile conversation to be had about how I've got a heroine I really like and want people to root for but I've gotten into the whole DiD scene. I didn't get into the bondage fetish scene unwillingly, for sure! But it's been something I think about where there are two distinct different mindsets I go into. One is my actual thinky time story hat where I try to keep the libido at a reasonable distance. And the other well, it's fun but it can get in the way of story telling!

Now... if the story was about sexy fun times...

Double Deadline

I think there is a balance that can be struck, certainly. Especially if you establish a world which is open about issues of sexuality, kink and things, there are plenty of thought provoking questions to pose and discussions to have in the course of a story. The kink community in SF is a relatively large one with its drama and intregues and politics like any other subculture, all against the background of kinky leather fun time. The early Wonder Woman comics by Marston, the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels and Stranger in a Strange Land are all great examples of how kinky sexiness can be woven into good stories to their benefit rather than their detriment. Discussions of gender, equality/inequality, morality, philosophy on the human condition, love, fear, anxiety, self discovery, finding ones happiness and acceptance, facing ones own inadiquecies and prejudices, defying expectations - all things that can be done with even the most vanilla sex stories if a modicum of effort be put to it. Also, awesome drawing. ^_^
