 UPDATED:

Just for fun, I wanted to share the lineart of this picture because that's not shared anywhere else! With the new multi-image feature on patreon, it makes sharing WIP pictures a lot easier. And I thought for this image in particular, it would be worth it to share different versions. I thought the drawing looked good without the background, and the lineart version might be a nice treat.

I'm going to share this post publicly as well, so new people skimming my patreon get an example of these kinds of exclusive posts for the future.

ORIGINAL POST:

Or is this a “pin down?”

This came out pretty nice. I‘ve gotten a lot of compliments on her mechanical parts here, even though I feel like I’m winging it. I’ve been trying to practice more “logic” in my drawings. By that I mean, I want to be able to show how everything works. It doesn’t have to be that accurate, though I think accuracy is appreciated.

It doesn’t just apply to mechanical parts. I want to learn how to draw all the muscles better. And that means knowing which bones attach to what muscles. I want to know how the layers of fat or skin flow over the muscles. I can fake it sometimes, but generally speaking all humans have the same bones and the same muscles in the same configuration.

Anyway, I’m sorry if I haven’t been very communicative lately. I’m still not working at 100%. But I’ll see you guys again on Monday. Take care.

Great stuff as always! Out of curiosity, is that a Big O style punch piston sticking out at her elbow joint, there?

Wanderjar

I believe it is, although I think in this case it's an actual pile driver and extended Central structure for greater leverage

Wanderjar

10/10 would pin again lol

Ember Saffron

Looks liek the pnumo cannon hand from big O! I love it!

Adama

Looks like the only thing pinning her down is that humongous right arm. Did she try to wear something too big for her to handle?

Philip D Jones

Awesome abs. Downright scary. I’m lovin’ it.

psudonym

In this story, it's an arm that wasn't designed for her however a combination of its own internal reactor and how Colette interacts with it, makes it useable.

Mason Dunne

Some greeble & nurnie bits on her arm wouldn’t hurt!

Wanderjar

That line art is really pretty. It's pretty cool watching a picture come together
