I don't believe I've posted this yet.

Do any of you patrons remember the old Random Drawing Generator?

This was one of my tumblr's most popular little projects and for a long time I've thought about ways to update it. I don't know enough about programming to create it myself and I've worked and talked with a couple people about making it happen. What I do know a thing or two about is interfaces and design stuff.

I got attracted to changing the design of the random drawing generator into a madlib style card game. You basically have a pronoun and a verb, and you've got yourself a sentence. And one sentence is enough to generate an idea for a drawing, right?

Playing with the way fan art can be very silly, you'd think that a lot of these options can just be truly random lazy junk. But that really isn't the case. Good writing and good editing creates a better experience. So you've got to shave down and cut out cards that aren't very interesting. You also have to do this without cutting out the really unique and and silly ideas. That's where all the work goes into making a game like Cards Against Humanity into something that's funny for as many people as they can get, while trying to edge the line of humor and controversy.

There are a couple hints in this very rough sketch showing some of the new features I'd like to add into the new randraw generator. The biggest one would be to seperate nouns by tags. Having each card tagged by their creative universe or even character type allows you a load of new options with your verbs and how to make the cards behave. Tags will also help should the list of characters grow too large in the future.

I'd love to get this done, I've had some work done with a partner on this too. But it's really something I wish I had more time for on top of everything.
