Anyway more thoughts on San Diego.
I stayed in a very out of the way hotel in San Ysidro. I had no idea what San Ysidro was before I booked a hotel there. It was a real border town too. The hotel wasn't much to talk about but even that far out, it's true there were at least a few other comic-con visitors staying there instead of at the more expensive hotels.
I didn't get to do much of the local food stuff as I wanted, and I feel like San Ysidro would've been my best chance at it. But I didn't have a car and any place that would've served food, didn't open until I was already back at the convention. There's something I like about places like that, though I wish the town were safer, richer, and more prosperous. I feel like I can usually get a good taste of "real" food there. Nothing against food chains, they're still great. But this was the kind of town if I asked some stranger where the good food was, it was gonna be REAL good.
Oh well, I'll have to get some real SoCal food next time I'm out there.
