High Res in the Dropbox

These aren't so much attempts at good "drawings" persay as they are tests over color and lighting. I'm unconcerned with the anatomy or the clarity of the lineart here. But I'm enjoying how the painterly quality blends with the pencils and creates a vibrant and bouncy sort of coloring.

This can be applied to much better lineart. But I've started coming to the decision that I have to either spend less time on one aspect of my art and apply that  same energy to other aspects. And I think, for most sketches anyway and single drawings, I'll pass on doing inking.  Inking doesn't net a "complete" piece as quickly as a good rush of color.

I've got complicated thoughts on the matter and it's not me saying I'll quit working on my inking forever. But I think I'd like to get better at color and "painting" more than working on my lines.

Who ever said that everything has to be inked in the first place, that every line must be hard and clear? I've always loved this more "sketchy" style, with colours it's just perfect. I support a move in this direction!
