a piece of fanart I've been working on for a while (read: started months ago and put aside and finally dug back out this morning). I really loved the descriptions of quarians in Mass Effect 1 that made them sound almost like cyborgs, and was a bit disappointed when later games didn't lean harder into that idea. The way I draw Tali is still very humanoid, but incorporates more of the suit-as-life-support idea than her canon physical appearance.

The focus of this drawing is supposed to be on her helmet and all the wires coming out of the back of it, but I could not leave this poor girl's FACE alone. You, dear patrons, the Catiepilled elite, get to see all the different stages of me being unable to make up my mind in the process screencaps. The entire rest of the drawing went much more smoothly, even all of the hard-surface and mechanical nonsense that you'd think would be trickier than a face in profile. Art is a mysterious process.

I never really got into ME so I only know the most basic stuff, but this is really awesome! You did such an awesome interpretation of how she looks under the visor and all the life-support functionality of the suit!

Thank you so much! Tali is my favorite character in the games and I’d love her no matter what she looked like, but I have fun reinterpreting her appearance in my own way.
