All she wants is ultimate power and posters of her face-- is that really so much to ask for?

The Locked Tomb book series by Tamsyn Muir is good. It's really, really good. Ianthe Tridentarius-- necromancer, princess, party girl-- is a terrible person and my favorite character, and at this point I've done a few sketches of her that I want to turn into larger and more polished pieces. I don't know when I'll get back around to doing that, though, so you guys on patreon get to see them in the meantime.

the last two drawings are me trying to figure out how I like to draw her face. I think I'm actually more of a fan of the cartoonier look of the very last one, and I want to adjust the more realistic one to be closer to that, while keeping the deranged and unsettling facial expression.

love this wretched girl. especially love how you emphasize her teeth-- the ninth gets a lot of teeth imagery, but it's the third that actively eat their cavaliers, lmao

aahh thank you for your comments! I need to get around to polishing these Ianthe drawings up fr. And YEAH I feel like I don't see nearly enough like... gross viscera or teeth or cannibalism imagery in art of her, and she deserves so much more. Let her be unsettling and horrible! Let her flourish!
