Another DnD commission! That's going to be the refrain for a while-- my whole commission queue for now is all people who want artwork of their TTRPG characters! I love drawing people's PCs-- DnD games go on for a long time, and people get very invested in their characters, so I've found that people commissioning artwork of their own characters are very excited and enthusiastic about the process.

My favorite subtype of ttrpg character commissions are ones like this one, where the commissioner doesn't just want an image of their character, but an illustration of a special specific moment from their campaign. In this scene, Burdock, the commissioner's PC, is by a bonfire, telling a story about a giant sea monster he and his party fought, with a sea monster made of snow, courtesy of the party's wizard, as a visual aid.

This picture was more involved than the others I've done lately, due to the nighttime snow/bonfire lighting and the giant sea monster taking up half of the composition, and I had a lot of fun with it. In fact, I got into a groove with the painting so easily that I forgot to take as many progress screenshots as I meant to! Something about dramatic lighting just makes me want to slap it all down before it has the chance to intimidate me.
