I've seen BTVS, in its entirety, at least a dozen times in my life (I'm 28 now). And the scene with Buffy and Joyce at the end of the episode rips at my heart strings every time. Not because she's sick, but because of the undying love and devotion that she has for both Buffy and Dawn. When I think about Joyce, I often think that Joss created her character in a way that emulates my mom down to the very last detail (she even actually looks like my mom... its kinda scary 🤣). There are so many traits that Joyce has as a mother that I see in my own, so I've always felt very close to Buffy in that way... almost like we share the same mom, if that makes any sense? And I just really empathize with Buffy because my mom has had a lot of health scares over the past 5-6 years and the fear of losing her has often paralyzed me to the point where sometimes I legitimately ask God to take me before he takes her. But anyway... I'm really loving these Buffy reactions, Nick. There is still SO MUCH to come this season and it only gets better the further you get into it. Waiting for these bi-weekly reactions is KILLING ME, but that is just my own selfish impatience speaking lmao. I totally get how you have to stagger the Angel/Buffy episodes and I'm eager to see the next reaction!!!!

Thanks so much! I think Joyce had a moment of clarity when she was going in and out of reality. She realized Dawn wasn't her daughter when a picture of true reality came to her. Kind of like when you are dreaming and suddenly realize that you're in a dream. Loved this episode. The creature was creepy and Buffy was having a rough time. Both her and Joyce were strong though. Riley definitely feels more comfy with the initiative. Can't say what's to come, but I think he and Buffy live in different worlds. Thanks again. :D
