This movie came out in 2006, the same year as Step Up which was a bigger success than this movie where Channing plays a dancer from the wrong side of the tracks. He was not well known at this point. In my opinion, this is NOT a classic teen movie like Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club etc. This movie is actually a remake of an 80’s movie of the same premise called Just One of The Guys. A girl is told she can’t do something, so she dresses up and enrolls in another school as a guy. Can’t Buy Me Love, Pretty in Pink, Bring It On, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 13 going on 30, A Cinderella Story, are some others and the actress from this movie is in another called What a Girl Wants.

I love this film i remember watching it when came out and I didn't realise till just rewatched that its a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night - where twins viola and sebastian are seperated by a shipwreck and land on different parts of an island (both believing their twin drowned) So viola disguises herself as her brother to be able to get a job in Duke Orsino household, the duke is in love with countess Olivia who falls for viola (as sebastian) when she is sent as messenger by the Duke the rest story plays out pretty much the same way.
