THAT ENDING.  Wow.  Talk about a powerful film, a great story, and some serious horror.  I had heard good things, but this was better than I thought.

Damn... In perspective, the worst monster weren't really the ones that came outside and from another dimension. Humanity can be so monstruous sometimes.

several of the actors are from the tv show the walking dead. (the mother plays carol). It's still kind of bumming someone went and ruined the end for you since it's one of those endings you really don't expect just how dark it can go....it's one thing to go by the monsters but another to have to do it yourselves. At the same time they couldn't stay at the supermarket, they were about ready to sacrafice his son. Also thinking about the concept of not giving in most focus on the fathers and and having to kill his own son is def the worse but think about all those people in the supermarket that gave into their fears and now have to live with the knowledge they killed people for no reason. When they hear afterwards it was the military and not acts of god they were sating.

Your afterthoughts are the best! Extremely perceptive and insightful. The ending is a famous one, I'm not surprised you were a little spoilt on it. Oh and that painting he was doing at the beginning, was of Roland Deschain from Stephen Kings The Dark Tower series. It actually makes a lot of sense for it to show up in this story once you've read the series lol

Yeah, I was bummed that I had the ending spoiled, but I still really enjoyed the movie (same thing happened to me when I watched the Sixth Sense actually, bad luck avoiding spoilers I suppose). I've never seen the Walking Dead actually, but it could be something I react to in the future. And I agree... all those people who stayed behind and turned on each other... what will they feel when they military rescues them? Guilt? Shame? Remorse? Or will they justify their actions and just continue on with their lives, never to bring their actions up again? I don't know, but I can say that the father's actions were much more noble and well-intentioned (although tragic and likely wrong) than the cowards who stayed behind. Then again, in a terrible situation like that full of supernatural terror, would I act any better than the people at the market? This movie was great, and really makes me think

Thank you, that's very nice to hear! And that's a cool little easter egg at the beginning, that painting was really neat. As far as the Dark Tower... I'm interested in the story as I've heard really good things from fans (although I also heard the movie unfortunately was not good)

THIS MOVIE DESTROY ME!!! It was actually born when Stephen went with his kid to a store and a crazy storm started. I watched once and I remember now why. It's f#$% well executed The call to the dark tower at the beginning was nice, (although that book series was one of the most frustrating in my history with books ) the portrait of humanity correct, I like the raw style of it because it makes it feel more real in somehow. Also, the lack of music made it more disturbing. Yeah... pffff happy Friday everyone!!
