And I'm watching Nick whilst at work again 🙄🤣 ohhh Wyn looks lovely in red 🥰

Hans Engelen

Plot thickens ... like ... a lot. I do hope you don't make us wait too long for part 2. This got me in the mood for the finale.

Priscila

Basically, if Bella had chosen Jacob over Edward, they would have been happy ever after because Jacob's person would never have been born. Jacob explained, when you imprint, you become what the person needs: a brother, a friend, a protector. The romance part is for adults haha!

Natalie Weibel

I think imprinting was explained more in the book, but imprinting isn't a decision that the wolves make, it happens when it happens, they can't control it. It's not love, it's just a bond with whomever it happens with. Jake imprinted on the baby not because of relationship, i think it may have been out of his love for Bella in the end, because he did explain on imprinting with someone means protection, care. He was explaining in this one that you are anything the person needs, a brother or a friend also. And Bella's transformation was so painful but the morphine in her system prevented her from moving at all, but she felt it all inside. But the not moving was worrying Edward, he kept trying to bite her to get her to react but she couldn't. And you're right that there is something special about Bella, they find out in the next movie.

Lena Down

WIth Jacob imprinting on Renesmee, most people who watched it think it's ridiculous, but actually Jacob said before doesn't mean if they are gonna date in the future or he is her brother or her friend, his task is to protect her forever. So in my opinion it is not creepy at all.

CeNedra

The baby was encased in a hard substance, like vampire skin, Edward had to bite through that to be able to get the baby out. 😊

Hans Engelen

Interesting idea ... But, and afaik this was never really explained in the books either. Would that be a sure thing. The lore is that imprinting is genetically driven (or at least the wolves theorized as much) to create stronger wolves. So is there only 1 person that he could ever imprint on? Because if not you could potentially have another Emily-Leah-Sam situation.

Brandy

You guys are too cute together, great reaction! Just a couple of things. The imprinting, when a wolf imprints on a child it's not a sexual thing. Basically the wolf will be whatever the person imprinted on needs in the moment. If they're a child they will be like a big brother/friend/protector, and once they get old enough it turns into more. So Jacob is there for whatever Bella's daughter needs and he will protect her at all costs. Bella's heart continued to beat faster and faster while she was going through the change of becoming a vampire but as soon as the change was complete her heart stopped beating. The venom is supposed to be excruciating and make you feel like you're on fire. You're not supposed to be able to just lay still and take it, it should make you scream from the pain and the change lasts around 3 days.. That's why you saw the internal stuggle of Bella being in pain but she wasn't showing it on the outside. That's also why they weren't sure if the venom was working or not. Jacob is now the leader of his own pack because he was the cheifs grandson and he left Sam's pack, so there are two packs. Bella's eyes were so read because she is a brand new vampire and she is very thirsty for human blood. Also last thing I actually just found this out but in the first movie towards the end when Edward is sucking the venom from her hand and she is dying and it transitions to her in the hospital, the song thats playing was actually sung by Robert Pattinson himself. I thought that was pretty cool.

This is my favourite twilight film, love everything about it. As mentioned with Jacob imprinting on Renesmeé it's not always romantic, it just means he's her protector. Can't wait for Part 2, love your reactions. ☺️

Heida

I know the idea of Jacob imprinting on a baby is creepy but it's an INVOLUNTARY response in which a wolf finds his soulmate. It is something that is beyond his control and the one he imprints on is actually the one in control. It happens the first time he sees the person he's imprinting on, which is why, if he had imprinted on Bella it would have had to be the first time he met her (more specifically: the first time he looked her in the eye). It can't be forced on anyone, no matter how much he may want it. He will become WHATEVER SHE NEEDS him to be, whether that's a lover or a friend, but above all, he is her protector. If the imprintee is an infant, as it is in this case, the shape-shifter will act as an older brother; romantic feelings will not develop until she comes of age (if they do). In that moment it's NOT in a romantic way. Later, however, it may become romantic. In this situation, Jacob was going to KILL Renesmee - until he imprinted on her. And because of the pact, the wolves can't hurt her. So, as messed up as it is, at least this way she is ALIVE and PROTECTED. Even though I'm not personally a fan of the Edward and Bella relationship, I love the aesthetic to their wedding and Bella's wedding dress. And about the sex thing: Edward just couldn't deny Bella the human experience of sex any longer despite his fear of harming her, as they had a deal. And if you're wondering how he got Bella pregnant when he's technically dead, Stephanie Meyer explained: "Like with vampire skin, which looks similar to human skin and has the same basic function, fluids closely related to seminal fluids still exist in male vampires which carry genetic information and are capable of bonding with a human ovum". Bella's pregnancy lasted only 28 days due to Renesmee's hybrid nature as a half-human/half-vampire, causing rapid growth. During the birth scene, Carlisle tells them over the phone that the placenta must have detached. There’s not even time to let the morphine spread before giving Bella a C-Section but she tells them to get the baby out regardless. The C-Section is shown through Bella’s point of view. Edward bites her through the hard amniotic sac to the baby out. Afterwards, Bella is dying and despite Jacob's CPR support and Edward's venom, Bella's heart stops beating. After Jacob, who has lost all hope, leaves, Edward injects his venom into Bella's heart and bites her in several places, maximising her odds of survival. The venom is supposed to be excruciating and make you feel like you're on fire. We see the internal stuggle of Bella being in pain but she wasn't capable of showing it on the outside due to the morphine in her system. That's also why they weren't sure if the venom was working or not. Edward provides CPR himself which, combined with the venom, eventually results in Bella's heart recovering and her tranformation into a vampire. Also, Bella is a newborn who is craving human blood so she has red eyes when she has transformed. Rosalie always wanted children and to have a normal human life, so Bella knows she will protect the baby. I understand Edward's and even Jacob's feelings, they're just afraid of losing Bella, but they aren't respecting her choice. Fun facts: This has a different director than the first three (all of the movies but the last two have different directors). It's directed by Bill Condon also directed/wrote/produced Chicago, Dreamgirls, 2017's Beauty and the Beast live-action and The Greatest Showman. Sofia Coppola was in talks to direct but she thought the whole imprinting-werewolf thing with the baby was too weird. Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 were shot back-to-back as one whole movie. The first scenes shot were the honeymoon scenes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The last scenes shot were the wedding scenes (more specifically Jacob and Bella's scene at the wedding). The Isle Esme house had to be recreated on a sound stage in Baton Rouge, Louisiana due to production only having one week on location in Brazil. Most of the indoor honeymoon scenes were shot on the sound stage in Louisiana and not in Brazil. On the third day of filming in Brazil, the cast and crew got stranded overnight on the location used for Isle Esme due to a severe rain storm. The crew had to cover the furniture and props in the house with tarps to prevent water damage due to the rain and people having wet clothes. Filming of most of the exterior shots took place in Canada. While filming in Vancouver, the cast and crew were evacuated from the set due to the tsunami warnings resulting from the 9.0-magnitude earthquake that hit Japan on March 11th 2011. Filming relocated to Squamish, but a few scenes were shot in the Orpheum Theater with the Vancouver police covering all the entrances of the theater. The CGI baby is notoriously bad, but if you think that looks awful you ain't seen nothing yet! Originally they had an animatronic which they called Chuckesmee because it resembled Chucky. It TERRIFIED the actors on set and I understand why. Here is a BTS on it: https://youtu.be/7jOuy-HOcg8?si=9CdDEJYNkZ6LuTQw. The visual effects team used over 30 real babies using the Lola projection rig, the same tech that is used to help find missing children, to age Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee). Images of Kristen Stewart were also used so the baby would resemble her, especially her eyes. It took 3 hours to apply all the make-up effects on Kristen to create Bella's emaciated appearance. Effects that couldn't be achieved with make-up were created digitally in post-production. Furthermore, Bella's body was prosthetic from the shoulders down in the birthing scene. There was an opening in the table so Kristen could comfortably lay down underneath the table top while still having her head and shoulders to be visible. To achieve movement of the prosthetic limbs a puppeteer was also under the table controlling the limbs. Director Bill Condon chose not to show Edward ripping Bella's body open with his teeth during the birth because he felt having the audience experience it via sound effects and having Rob slightly out of frame made it more potent. He also felt it made the scene more special for viewers who have read the book. Robert Pattinson went through a strict diet and exercise regime for six months in preparation before filming. He stopped his routine after filming the sex scene. He also got boat driving lessons but he actually crashed the boat while filming the boat scene. AND he learned to speak some Portuguese for the scenes where Edward interacts with the housekeepers in Brazil. The original cut of Bella and Edward's wedding night sex scene was much raunchier and had to be reshot and edited to avoid giving the movie an R rating. They also had to done down the birth scene, believe it or not, which was much more graphic in the book. Stephenie Meyer handpicked Carolina Herrera to design Bella's wedding dress while costume designer Michael Wilkinson worked closely with Ashley Greene (Alice) and Nikki Reed (Rosalie) to design their bridesmaid dresses. Maggie Grace, who plays Irina (the pissed blonde woman from the wedding and Laurent's lover), played Ian Somerhalder's stepsister on LOST (which I know you've seen). If you don't know, Ian played a vampire on The Vampire Diaries AND he is married to Nikki Reed who plays Rosalie in Twilight. And since you mentioned it, Maggie also played Liam Neeson's daughter in Taken. Stephenie Meyer can be seen as a guest at the wedding as Bella walks down the aisle (she also appeared in the first movie). She also produced Part 1 AND 2. The lead single of the soundtrack is Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain". The second single is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, which is Bella and Edward's love song. This is the first Twilight soundtrack not to feature a song from the band Muse. Mía Maestro who plays Carmen of the Denali clan had her song "Llovera" featured on the soundtrack. Evanescence expressed interest in doing a song on the soundtrack but were unsuccessful. They had also attempted to have songs in the first movie but Summit did not approve of the songs they presented. During their vows and first kiss as husband and wife, the song "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron & Wine plays. This is the same song they danced to at the prom at the end of the first movie. The song "Cold" by Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz on the soundtrack includes the lyrics "sing for the lion and lamb". A callback to a line from the first movie. Robert nearly caused the fanbase to combust when he revealed at a press conference that a real priest was used for the wedding scene, making him and Kristen legally married. That was false, however (I think he was just joking 😂). The opening scene in which Jacob receives Bella and Edward's wedding invitation is from the books, but it is actually the epilogue of Eclipse rather than the prologue of Breaking Dawn. When Bella eats chicken while Edward is away hunting, it's almost foreshadowing about the pregnancy because in all of the previous movies, she only ate vegetarian. Bella and Edward playing chess with red and white pieces is a nod to the book cover. In the book, Renesmee's middle name is Carlie - after Charlie and Carlisle. When Jacob first enters the Cullen house to see Bella, she's wrapped in a quilt — the same quilt Bella's mum gave her in Eclipse.

Horrible movie haha, and this is only a slice of what’s to come! I really hope you guys enjoy the terrible cringy-ness and bad writing! No offense at all, cuz It was so funny for me my first time, I hope you get as big of a laugh as I did 🤣 🤣

Tara

You guys were talking to each other when Jacob imprinted and his voice over explained again that when you imprint on someone, it’s like gravity and it’s not the Earth holding you here. You would do anything, be anything she needs him to be… a friend, a brother, a protector. I think because Sam imprinted on Emily and they were adults, he is what she needed which is a loving partner, but because Jacob imprinted on Renesme while she’s a baby, he will be her protector and friend and that bond may grow into something deeper when she is older, but maybe if he met Renesme as an adult, it would be romantic love along with being whatever she needs him to be.

CatsandCrafts

The sleeping with Bella thing, that was her condition to marry him, well, one of them. He promised they’d try, but only after getting married as it was one rule he didn’t want to break. This was spoken about during the bedroom proposal scene in Eclipse. She wanted to experience it as a human before changing, and he would only try if they were married first. And he also agreed to change her himself if she would marry him. He has strict morals with the sanctity of marriage and the rule of no sex before marriage. So it was spoken about but it’s easy to miss if you are reacting, and watching together when you are discussing things happening too. Jacob imprinted on Renesme, which is the montage you saw him have when he went in the intending to kill her for ‘killing’ Bella. It’s not something done by choice, it just happens. You’ll get a lot more explanation in the next movie. Breaking Dawn Part 2 is my personal favourite. For me, it’s the best out of all of them, but I have a soft spot for this one too. The two together are a masterpiece for me. Imagine having to wait a whole year for Part 2! That’s what many of us had to do, and it was a looooong wait, let me just tell you. I personally love the way she was changed….its hard to imagine Edward doing it just because they wanted it, and it would have caused a lot of uproar with the werewolves, etc. This way, it was done to save her life after she chose to go ahead with the pregnancy. Carlisle and the Cullens only change humans when they are dying, so I love how this was in line with their prior beliefs and morals. They didn’t have to sacrifice that moral to change Bella, and she gave them something they never believed was possible…a baby born into their family. As vampires are dead in theory, they didn’t know they could reproduce. Rosalie was called by Bella as she described in Eclipse how she will never have what she always wanted..,a baby. She knew Rosalie would understand and help her against Edward’s objections to go ahead with the pregnancy. I LOVED your suggestion of Jacob going and catching some mountain lions etc for the Cullens to eat..,.why didn’t they think of that?!!!!!!!! I never once thought of that. Also, I think you guys missed in the boat on the way to the island, Edward says it’s Isle Esme, a wedding present to her from Carlisle. So they own the entire island! How amazing is that!!!!! Imprinting is so often misread by people watching the movies. But it’s not falling in love with them simply put. It’s yes, falling in love, but in a way of being there for anything they need, protecting them, caring for them, etc. yes, someday and sometimes with adults it can means falling in love romantically, but until that time comes, it’s being a brother, a protector, a best friend, a soulmate. And Edward biting when trying to deliver the baby, his teeth are razor sharp and were the only thing sharp enough to penetrate the embryo lining to get the baby out quickly. The special effects in these movies are so incredible, and the way they made Bella look so awfully thin and unwell was amazing. Fun fact….she is lying under the bed with her head poking out, and on top of the bed a dummy body was put on it to look like it’s her body. The behind the scenes are brilliant!! Pleeeeeeease post the Part 2 reaction soon….if for nothing else but for all us Twilighters that had to wait a whole year for the actual movie release, lol. I love you guys so much. Quynh, you look stunning, as always. I loved your reactions to the body cracking part! Haha. I remember telling my sister-in-law at the time to not take my niece to see it, as it was borderline horror at the end!!!! I can only imagine the shock on parents’ faces taking their kids to see the next Twilight movie and then seeing this! Sex, blood and horror, Oh my! Thank you guys so much for reacting to this franchise. It’s special to me, and I am so glad you got past the first one and to now see your transition to how much you are so invested in them now! lol. They are often given stick for being corny and cringeworthy, but I think they are amazing and so underestimated! I’m sorry to tell you though…..I’ve always been Team Edward. I love Jacob, but Edward was always who Bella wanted. Watch the best one……and soon. It’s INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! There are moments that you’ll be beyond shocked by! I still remember the reactions in the cinema, I’ve never been in a cinema and had such an audible reaction before from everyone!!!!!!! It’s EPIC!!!!! Love you guys! Loving Big Bang and Friends too. Nick, you are well and truly into Big Bang now, and I can see you starting to really love it now!xx

If I recall correctly, there's a TON of back and forth in the books about them sleeping together. She said she needed to experience that as human and that's why he eventually relented. This is probably my least favorite movie. This and the next one, and Breaking Dawn the book, are absurd. But what I wish they'd kept in was when Edward was begging Jacob to save Bella, he says something like, "if she wants kids so badly, she can have puppies," basically saying "if you convince her to end this pregnancy, I will let you impregnate my wife" lol. I also wish they'd somehow put in more of the Leah/Jacob growing friendship. That was maybe the only thing I liked about this book. There's a lot more of them bonding over their heartache, to the point where I thought MAYBE they'd end up getting together and she would obviously be way better for Jacob than Bella ... but then the imprinting happened. I know they try and explain it away as "He won't think of her romantically until she's grown-up!" but NOPE, it's still creepy. Some grown man you've known your entire life, since infancy, is just hanging around being your "protector" and then when you turn 18, he's suddenly your boyfriend? IT'S WEIRD. Jacob deserved better than this, Stephenie Meyer just didn't like how much of the fandom was Team Jacob because she's obviously Team Edward, and so she did this to him. CREEEEEEEPY. The last movie is absurd, but as with all of them, it's also fun. Can't wait to watch with you guys! And if you need some Bella/Jacob fanfic that takes place after Eclipse, that completely disregards the events of Breaking Dawn, lmk! I got you

Lola Lirola

I'm sorry to ask, but did they skip Eclipse, or did I miss it?

Lola Lirola

I am looking for the full reaction, but I cannot find it anywhere on the channel. Can anyone point me to it?

Dannielle

I was always Team Alice and Team Charlie. It was hard to relate to everyone. I am sad they missed out on Esme and Alice's backstories which was got in the books prior to this point but were left out of the movies. I think we should do a deleted scenes reaction too.

Stephen Paynter

It is difficult to answer this, because, as I am looking at the site, the Eclipse full reaction is the one immediately below it. I can only suggest scrolling up and down a bit. It is definately here.

Lola Lirola

Oh, weird. It doesn't appear under the "Twilight" tab, and even more strangely, if I type 'eclipse' on the search bar, it says "No results". Also, there were several Angel and Big Bang Theory episodes in the middle, it wasn't immediately below, so I was very lost. I think it might be indexed wrong, just in case that can be fixed for others to find it more easily! But anyway, finally found it. Thank you so much!

Stephen Paynter

I think what I like about this movie is the way it explores new territory for this type of genre .... honeymoons, sex and pregnancy is not the normal fare of vampire stories, and this one shows that it follows naturally from the start ... human girl falls for nice vampire. It also nicely subverts the "men want sex more than women" trope. Finally, what always looked like a major stumbling block - Bella being bitten, killed, and turned into a Vampire - that the earlier books/films agnonised over - turned out to be nothing ... we were all routing for Edward to bite her!!! Interesting story telling, even without the big battle.
