1943, then Senator Harry Truman was perhaps setting the foundation for an eventual Jewish homeland. In 1948, President Harry Truman was in favor of creating the State of Israel during a UN vote on that issue. His Secretary of State George Marshall (pretty much an anti semetic guy), was so opposed to the creation of Israel, that he threatened to resign. He didn’t, but told Truman he would never vote for him again.

I know this may be somewhat late, but I do have a concern about the intro for WAH. One of the visuals depicts the graphic execution of a civilian, I'm assuming by a Japanese soldier. I understand the necessity of demonstrating the gravity of this series, however, showing the graphic death of an individual in every episode is a step beyond. I would be most grateful is the team could apply some editing so that the Intro is not so gratuitous.

George Marshal was not antisemitic. He warned that European Jews had no business setting up a state in someone else's country and it would lead to war in the Middle East. Truman rejected his advice. The rest is history.

Yes since that moment in the history the fortune of Poland was only worsening. Nobody from the Allies wanted to consider that actually the attack on Poland in 1939 had not been made only by Germans. Actually invasion onto Poland from both sides had been agreed between Stalin and Hitler shortly before the war. Polish army in 1939 was ordered not to fight against the Soviets so all went to camps (gulags) as POWs. Shortly after all of them were executed by shots in the back of the head and buried in different places close to Katyn. Also the same was done to Polish intellectuals, industrialists, scientists. This was done on an order signed by all Politbiuro of the Soviet Communistic Army (only Chruszczov who was in Ukraine had not signed). That history is fantastically presented in the film KATYN by Polish regisseur Andrzej Wajda. It has English version. I encourage you all to see it. Since Germans discovered these facts it was normal that the Polish government in exile wanted to clarify the situation. It was, however, a danger to the unity of the Allies. Since that time the Polish were treated by the Allies as stubborn and irresponsible. The further development ended in the situation in which actually after the war Stalin decreased much of Poland and the remaining country was completely dependent on Soviet Union. So actually the war was started to defend Poland’s independence but ended in 1945 by giving Poland over to Stalin. Not to forget that on fronts the Polish soldiers were fighting with full force for your and our independence. Even the fantastic bear Wojtek. So it shows how history is inconsequent but also hard.
