This week we cover the horrific atrocities committed by outright criminal bands that have been unleashed by the Nazi state against the innocent men, women, and children of occupied Europe. Supposedly sent to combat Partisan activity, these militarised gangs of bandits will plunder, rape, torture, and murder people behind the German lines - only demonstrating to many the necessity of joining the anti-Axis resistance. The Partisans themselves are unsympathetic to anyone who supports the Axis, and mobilise all resources at their disposal to fight the occupiers.

The modern day conception of Nazi Germany is unfortunately predicated on the image the Nazis wished to project of themselves: a hierarchical, ruthless, organised, and disciplined fighting force. While it is true that the Nazi method of genocide in death camps was certainly industrialised, the reality is that much of Nazi killing was more akin to that of an organised crime syndicate. It was carried out by petulant bandits, roaming militias of criminals and torturers.

Oh no, I knew this is going to be a hard video to watch the moment I saw the notorious Oskar Dirlewanger in the thumbnail and its band of hardened criminals under the Dirlewanger Brigade of the Waffen-SS, especially when one knows of the horrors they will inflict in the later years of the war. Never forget.

Being Dutch myself I still am ashamed of the fact that over 107.000 Jews, Roma, Sinti, Gay and communist people were murdered at Mauthausen, Sobibor, Treblinka, Auswitch, and many other KZ's. Though there were some brave citizens that harbored the so called 'Unerwuenschten', most of our nation looked away and did nothing to prevent this tragedy. Never forget!

Great video. Loved the ending 'Never Forget'.

This was hard, but it's so important for people, not least the youth, to watch this.

The war against humanity series is always hard to watch - and we are still only in April 1942, the worst is yet to come. Unfortunately

I scowled as soon as I saw that face. What a sick bastard even for a nazi.

I noticed for some time that you often pronounce Yugoslav names of people and places wrongly, Užice for example being repeatedly incorrect, same as most of the other names.

I try my best, usually Ilm good with foreign pronunciation, but for some reason I find the Serbo-Croatian unusually difficult to get right. My apologies.
