Content

As is the case with our regular series and TimeGhost History content, members of the TimeGhost Army (you) will now have early access to our War Against Humanity series.

We are doing this because we believe this series to be one of the most important things we do, and it is only thanks to the TimeGhost Army that we are able to continue making it. For a long time now, YouTube has consistently demonetised this series and other episodes dealing with similar topics. This potentially strangles our reach and our growth, but funding from you at the TimeGhost Army means we can carry on making this series regardless. To reward current members and encourage new ones, each episode of War Against Humanity will be available to watch two days ahead of it being made public.

Thank you all so much for your extraordinarily generous contribution, without it we wouldn't be able to do important work like this.

This series is so important and an integral part of WWII. It is hard to watch and I really admire Spartacus for his presentation. I studied the war and the holocaust a lot, but the series War against humanity and the film Shoa by Claude Lanzmann capture the horror on the deepest level. Never forget!

Great episode.

Questiony question, because I'm still a bit YouTube illiterate. If a video has ads, it's monetised, if it doesn't, it's not. Is it as simple as that or am I missing something?

And this comes right after I watched the Vile Eye's analysis of Amon Göth. This is not a day for joy.

TimeGhostHistory

It's a bit more complicated, demonetized is not the word YouTube use - they say "not suitable for all ads" and it means that it will get a lot less ads. The biggest problem is that videos that are categorized that way are given less priority and get less recommendation, so that they get less views. Videos with less views get less recommendation for the channel overall resulting in a vicious circle were our content is viewed by less people, we get less ad income, and less people join the TimeGhost Army. You can see the effects clearly in the curves. When they change settings the videos increase (or decrease) by up to 30% in viewership.

Okay, I understand. I was asking mainly because I wasn't sure if the money from the ads was going to you or YouTube was keeping it all. If you get the same percentage, just from a smaller amount due to the fewer ads, then that's fine, I will keep watching with Adblock disabled, which was the ultimate purpose of my question. :D Thanks for the detailed answer, I didn't know any of that.

It's hard to believe but there are many who post prolifically across the internet in denial of the holocaust. I'm so happy and grateful to the TimeGhost team for this meticulous and accessible history to make sure that generations to come never forget. Every detail and every lost life remembered, matter.

Echoing much that is said in the comments, always difficult to watch these videos and to press the ‘like’ button. But really essential that these exist and accessible, thank you to the team. It is so important that the abhorrent deeds of the 20th century are remembered.

First ever comment here on Patreon. I am greatly depressed but at the same time appreciative of the "War Against Humanity" sub-series. What with the rise of Holocaust Denialism and political extremism I think this is one aspect of the times (WW2) that does not get enough coverage in detail. The generation younger than me, at least those who bother to look up the war, tend to be enamoured by the weaponry, technology, superstructures...etc. And though far more upsetting than the regular episodes it is important that we never forget.

Ditto, and although I can't say I'm happy I am definitely grateful to have this to answer the denial crowd. Which by the way includes those who deny the Imperial Japanese forces committed atrocities.

Anonymous

I'm not "happy" about the subject material of course but just with the fact that this history is being made accurately in a form accessible for generations to come.

This was the most painful and horrific one I have watched. It just horrifies me how such evil happened. Never forget.

Anonymous

I have no words.. shocking.. but I begin to ask what is more shocking.. shocking what happened or people nowadays that despite all this horror try to question that, make it forget or worse even glorify that? And people not even shocked by this anymore or worse, trying to believe that desinformation? I have a last and maybe very naive believe that remembering and talking about the horror could maybe prevent it.

I had no idea that the Italians were guilty of these crimes. Very illuminating.

Such a bitter anniversary. I can't say it's a pleasure to listen to your videos, Sparticus, but your closing says it all - never forget. I especially appreciate the coverage of less widely known atrocities, like the Hungarian murders in the Vojvodina and Banat, or Italian concentration camps. I hope (and confidently expect) that you will cover in due course the horrors of the Allied carpet bombing and fire bombing campaigns. I don't truck with the idea that the Allies' own actions excuse the atrocities of the Axis forces, but I feel that we need to remember all the atrocities, not just those inflicted by the other side, or by future opponents like the Soviet Union. Most if not all countries have made War on Humanity at different times and with different excuses (or even no excuse at all) and we do ourselves no favors by turning our eyes away from them. Thank you again for the wonderful work you and the TimeGhost team do. I share these videos with students and friends alike, most particularly the hard ones to watch, and I have gotten almost universally positive reactions to your professionalism, thoroughness and honestly. If you ever need some research help from Washington, DC, don't hesitate to ask.

Dear Spartacus, please don’t get me wrong but the correct pronounciation of Belzec /Bełżec [ˈbɛwʒɛts] is “Bevshets”...
