In former Yugoslavia, the Republic of Uzice frees itself from the German occupation, thanks to the well organized resistance.

The Germans are mopping up the masses of shattered Soviet Armies after last week's capture of Kiev.
How did things end up for Kirponos, Potapov, Budenny, Timoshenko and Khrushchev?

In the north, it really looks as if Leningrad will hold out for the time being, despite thousands of people being killed or wounded every day.

And German troops from both north and south converge on the center for the coming drive on Moscow. But the German army is affected by 3 months of casualties, illness and logistical problems.

Also, the Japanese are secretly sizing up Pearl Harbor, but nobody seems to think much of that. Yet...

An interesting point re the push on the SW front that lot's of people misunderstand and suggest is the reason why Germany didn't take Moscow. A Moscow salient with a flank that long and 700k + Russians against it would have surely failed.

For example, the Japanese bombed civilians in Chongqing continuously since 1938... hasn't made China surrender. So why would it work in Britain? Similarly, Japan won crushing victories and occupied huge chunks of China... (including the capital and the backup capital) but China hasn't surrendered...

Good depiction of the Great Patriotic War. Hitler's war in Russia in many ways reflected French and Polish campaighns there.
