In July 1956, Egypt's president Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalizes the Suez Canal in an unexpected move to assert himself as a force to be reckoned with.
The Arab world is thrilled. The western world? Not so much.

There are three nations in particular who will not accept to just sit around and be played like this. So in utmost secrecy these unlikely allies conspire to find a solution to the problem Egypt has become to all of them.
But how?

The plan they come up with is as bold as it is deceitful, a wily scheme to fool the world and make Egypt the scapegoat...

The Suez Crisis is picking up pace this week, and we're excited to have you with us on our journey through this complicated and messy - but very interesting - part of history.
As always, it's you who make all of this possible through your loyal support, and we are incredibly grateful for it. You're the best!

Casus Belli or Bust | The Suez Crisis | Prelude 2

Britain and France are becoming increasingly worried about the growing threat of Egypt to the Middle East and Africa - they are not alone - Israel is also worried. Israel's close proximity to Egypt makes them a valuable secret accomplice in finding justification for a war that will seek to remove Gamal Abdel Nasser. An interesting period of time which often doesn't get the attention it should do.

Wouldn't mind seeing an American Revolution or civil war week by week. I do enjoy the short series format as well; loved cuban missile crisis and am really enjoying this one so far.

Hi, One of these days you need to consider a series on the wars in Southern Africa. Rhodesia, Angola, Mocambique, South Africa etc. Cheers.
