One of the fascinating things with looking at history chronologically in real time, the way we do on WW2, is to see things in a different perspective. To a normal Joe or Jane living in the US in 1941, events at the end of the year may have looked a lot more sudden than they were, and we see in our series. For anyone learning about WW2 in the broad strokes, the US entry into the war will look even more sudden.

But here, on TimeGhost we have, not only the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, but also insight into things that ordinary folk back then didn't see. And when you lay that out in real time, the historiography stops being a series of plot points with drastic turns, and it becomes a gradual grinder of events, many with monumental meaning, but perhaps not immediate impact. The meeting between Churchill and FDR this week is such an event that tracks the baby steps that led to that which we all know eventually happened.

It is this journey of discovery that we have embarked on together with you all. It is your membership in the TimeGhost Army that enables the rest of the world to also discover it together with us all. So not only do we owe you a debt of gratitude for enabling us to do this, but every viewer that comes across our content do as well. So in the name of entire TimeGhost community: Thank you!

Newfoundland joined Canada in 1949. Until then, it was a separate colony. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1948_Newfoundland_referendums?wprov=sfla1

As a member of the TimeGhost army, I say thank you. And what you say about looking at the past week by week like this is exactly what I love about WW2 in Real Time. Being able to see the broad patterns of history emerging thread by thread is wonderful. And a great way to get an ever deeper appreciation of the war and its history. I now salut Indy and all the folks behind this wonderful creation

Another great episode, however you guys have mixed up the Matilda I & II again they look completely different and the last time Matilda I was combat was France 1940 with the overwhelming number of them being lost in the fall of France.

Just to submit an idea; 15 minute segment on the strategic bombing survey. Otherwise, I love the series. I deeply appreciate your balance so it is not a Left wing or Right wing propaganda mill. My father, a B17 bomber pilot, never forgot what happened to Dresden. The war, and the events surrounding it, show the true beast that can come out of our species.

Indy and team: I love the content and your dedication to telling history how it really is. I joined patreon to give you the much needed you support you require, but I have to stop sponsoring you because I’m going to college and money will be tight for a few years. I’m going for a computer science degree, so hopefully when I’ve gotten my degree and fingers crossed, a decent paying job I will look back to your unbiased content and remember that you guys need the funding, and you’ll get it:)
