This episode quite heavily features the flight that Rudolf Hess made to Britain in what is arguably one of the more strange events of World War Two. We have just yesterday published a special episode about that on the WW2 channel. For those of you who haven't seen that yet, you can find it right here: https://youtu.be/EpAAdFFU8WA

Now, we're finalising our research and scripts for the events happening in June 1941. We will have a whole series of specials diving into the context of logistics, mobile warfare, the state of  armies and some expectations of leaders and commanders. We can't wait for you all to see it!

Thanks for the continuing support! You're the best community ever!

Cheers,
Joram

Ooh, logistics! I love logistics :D (I realize this sounds sarcastic, but I'm 100% genuine here. I'm very excited for this 😁.)

I don’t think I love logistics. But they’re certainly interesting and daunting to comprehend when you realise how much goes into fighting a war, that isn’t fighting a war. I remember Indy saying in the Great War the US army installed (I forget the number) 3 times the length of the circumference of the earth in phone wire in France to fight was turned out to be less than a year of the war. Then you consider someone had to hire the guys who made it all someone had to measure it all then order it all then it had to mapped out then to be installed and tested. That’s 1 army and 1 thing. I’d have a breakdown no doubt about it. Braver men then I figured that out.

Hess sure had a a cool plane.

Hey, logistics were the main reason the Romans beat everybody.

Is it the same duke of Aosta that blew a chance for the Italians in ww1 because he had to “ride his stupid horse” into a city after a minor victory in one of the battles of the isonzo instead of having the army pursue a routed enemy?

British and "their" oil supplies...

Has anyone removed themselves from a conflict in a more spectacular way?

Very happy to see the episode about Rudolf Hess, not that i am a fan or something, no... but i am living near the birthplace of rudolf hess. Second to that, Hess is or was a big thing in my community because of his grave. He was buried for a long time in a city called Wunsiedel (about 30 km from Selb, my Home) and me and my friends always where on the demonstration against the followers of the nazi party...

I'm trying to get a serious conversation going about the Hess flight . I am convinced there is way more to it than we believe. Harris and Wilbur have done a lot of research but I respectfully think they are off on some of their conclusions. Anybody interested?
