While we're not on our new schedule yet, we're starting to pick up pace towards the new schedule in March, so the next weeks we will conclude the five part resistance series on War Against Humanity. Looking forward to hearing what you think of this one. It goes public on Monday.

Please, before you go further in discrediting your objectivity, report to your viewers the number of Norwegians in the SS and its proportion to the number of Germans serving in the SS.

Awesome content. Keep up the great work!

This is an episode about resistance, not collaboration. Time for that will come later (I think).

Eben, you really need to go back and watch previous episodes presented by Sparty. The earlier episodes of the War against Humanity are chilling.

TimeGhostHistory

Eben, in early 1941 that is only starting to happen - the Waffen SS started recruiting already in April 1940 in Scandinavia, but it is in 1941, especially after Barbarossa has been launched that the numbers become significant, especially from the Benelux and France. In late 1940 Himmler also gets permission to recruit “non Germanic” people. Eventually the units from The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Norway will make up around 65,000 men, or 13% of the foreign legions of the Waffen SS. That’s a substantial number, but disproportionate to the population of the occupied lands. The proportionally biggest volunteer forces will come from the Baltic countries, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans. We will of course cover this in detail in both specials, the weekly episodes and War Against Humanity.

TimeGhostHistory

Oh and by the way, since you asked: 50% of the Waffen SS were non-German, while the Allgemeine SS and Totenkopfverbände (the SS proper and the SS in charge of concentration and extermination camps) only accepted Volksdeutsche (citizens of Greater Germany). With 6,000 Norwegians in the Waffen SS they made up 1% of the Waffen SS and 0.75% of the SS all together. While “Germans” made up 68.75% or 550,000 of all of the SS.
