Dear Patron,

This week, Indy sheds some light on the ramifications of the Chinese Nationalists action against the Chinese communists under Mao. And though Nationalist leader Chiang Kai Shek probably doesn't really realise this yet, he hugely underestimated his position.

There is also plenty going on outside of China. The British draw a battle plan to take the Italian held city of Tobruk in Libya and are still preparing for more action in East-Africa. Adolf Hitler attempts to expand his influence in South-Eastern Europe and the USSR wonders why Hitler hasn't responded to their messages.

I hope you all have a great week! Thanks a lot for all of your continuing support!

Cheers,
Joram

The Chinese Communists and Nationalists Clash while they're also both facing Japanese armies in the North. And although the Communists are not the obvious victor this week, the battle has bigger ramifications. Other action takes place in Cambodia and the Mediterranean. You really should emphasize that the Chinese aren't receiving much international support. In that picture, for example, the soldier is using a ZB 26 light machine gun purchased wholesale from Czechoslovakia.

This really puts on display how out of their league Italy was against Britain.

Kinda weird that Italy once controlled most of europe and then was pretty useless throughout both world wars and only really managed to win against austria by tricking their troops with a false peace deal, amplified by the fact that Austria was about as useful in WW1 as Italy was. Remember, 11 battles of the Isonzo, 10 of which were pretty much: Remember how our last plan didnt work? How about we do it again, but use a bigger army this time?
