Dear Patrons - thank you ever so much for being the first ones to join TimeGhost. We wanted to take the opportunity to update you on our time schedule and some new developments.

During the rest of November and early December we will be working on getting our web page, our forums and the rest of the infrastructure of TimeGhost finished. Until now we were a bit swamped with The Cuban Missile Crisis... which we finished writing and shooting only this past Friday. Together with you, the core of our community we now want to take our next steps. We juts hope for a little more patience while we set things up.

Now, we're going to do all of the things outlined on the page here - and they're extremely important to us. Especially deciding the future of TimeGhost together with you all. Our quarterly chronological, or real-time program like  The Cuban Missile Crisis is going to be the pillar of TimeGhost. To make that happen your financial contribution is also an essential part, which we are extremely grateful for. Meanwhile we're also still a fairly small community that needs to grow so that we can make more great stuff. And until we're more... to get going a little faster we're going to kick-start things, literally kick-start them.

To put it simply we're going launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough money fast enough to launch regular major programming. This is a separate effort from our Patreon activities but, to be clear our long term focus is on community building together with you all. The Kickstarter campaign's ultimate goal will be to raise enough money to make World War II week by week happen starting September 2018. But... there will be many intermediate stages for programming within the Kickstarter campaign, many of which we want to decide the details about together with you, our Patrons.

Obviously we also don't expect anyone to contribute financially in both places - we're extremely grateful for having you with us here on Patreon and that is more than enough!

We're still working out the details of how the Kickstarter campaign will work and how this will tie into what we're doing here practically. As soon as we have more details, we will be back with all the information.

Again, many thanks to you all! Let's make history!

WWII week by week? All the history geeks and Niedellophiles just got really really excited....

Us too... but it's a big, big mountain to climb - that's why we need the kickstarter campaign to finance it.

2018 and not 2019? Are you planning on starting with the annexation of czechoslovakia? ;)

Sounds like an opportunity to give waaay more context than if you begin "late 1939." You can start with non-weekly updates during 1938, but also have time to inform more about the by-then already ongoing sino-japanese conflict! By the way, could you explain why it is so difficult to mention this channel on the Great War channel? Is the company behind that account afraid of TimeGhost being a direct competitor or something?

TimeGhostHistory

The issue with promoting on The Great War is a bit complicated - generally networks frown on creators promoting their own independent projects on backed channels. Moreover, Spartacus founded and used to be the CEO of Mediakraft who backs the TGW channel, but is not with the company since early 2016. It might be possible to make a shoutout - we haven't asked - since even if they agreed, it could create some issues, so we prefer to stay strictly separated. Our specific goal is to be completely independent here on TimeGhost so that we can create freely together with our community.
