Is the Sazon Seasoning spicy?

Joshua C.

No. Side note Sazon, Badia Complete Seasoning and Adobo are seasoning blends, like you would find with "Italian Seasoning" or "Chili Powder". You may already have the majority of the seasonings in your pantry. Plenty of free recipes online for these. I prefer making my own blend because I have the seasoning already and I can make it to my preference.

Ingredients list mostly Garlic, MSG or salt. Onion, Cumin, Oregano all pretty common household spices. Annatto may be a little less common and is also called Anchiote, it can be bought whole but will need to be ground before use or bought ground. I prefer to grind mine, seems to last a little longer in my pantry and I only use it for a few recipes. Edit: Apologies I just copy and pasted the ingredients from the websites, and Goya wrote in all caps. Goya Sazon - MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE, SALT, DEHYDRATED GARLIC, CUMIN, YELLOW 5, TRI- CALCIUM PHOSPHATE (ANTI-CAKING AGENT), CORIANDER, ANNATTO (COLOR), RED 40. Goya Adobo - SALT, GARLIC, TRICALCIUM PHOSPHATE (ANTICAKING AGENT), BLACK PEPPER, OREGANO, TURMERIC. Badia Complete - Dehydrated Vegetables (Garlic & Onion), Spices, Salt, Monosodium Glutamate, Spices, Herbs and tricalcium phosphate (as an anti-caking agent)

Thank you. I do already have both the Badia Complete and have the Saxon in my cupboard from something my Daughter in law bought . I’m really sensitive to spices.

You can always add less, then if you think it needs more seasoning salt and pepper work wonders after cooking.

We just made this tonight. It is fantastic!

A word to the wise, Sazon has MSG, unfortunately I found out the hard way. When using spice mixes that are new to you, read the labels if you have sensitivities or allergies.

Made it last night. My household put it on our favorite list.

Ok I thought using regular yellow potatoes would be the same calories but they are much more?!

This was a huge hit in our house!!! I cut the chicken up into bite sized pieces before cooking and it was perfect. The whole entire family loved it. This is going into the rotation. Thank you!!

This recipe is so stinking good. I actually threw it all in the instant pot with a cup of chicken broth for 15 minutes.
