Madoka Magica came out during Winter 2011, Steins;Gate during Spring 2011. When I first watched it as it aired, I kept thinking that Mami was lucky this was a Mahou Shoujo otherwise she was setting up so many red flags The soundtrack is by Yuki Kajiura, one of the best anime composers. I will write more about the music of this anime later, when it no longer would be considered a spoiler

The witch name cards and the other text inside the labyrinths are in "witch runes", a script invented by Gekidan Inu Curry (the animator duo who designed and animated all the witches) The runes are a 1-for-1 cipher for the Latin alphabet, and the Internet hivemind managed to decipher them between the original airings of the second and third episodes.

On Crunchyroll, the subtitles seem to be embedded into the stream itself. If you select the Japanese audio, the subtitles will play despite the subtitles saying "none" in the settings.

Btw I read that there was showing in theaters for the show......and the ticket was actually of Mami, and the stub you tear off was her head

I just finished watching! Thank you for dropping the first three episodes all at once! Your mods or whoever else suggested that is a lifesaver. The first three episodes feel like they're meant to be viewed in rapid succession, right? Anyway, Madoka Magica is my second favorite animated series of all time, right behind Re:Zero, so I'm very excited to have my favorite reaction channel check it out. Every discussion thus far has been very insightful and exactly what I hoped to see from you two. I'm very much looking forward to seeing more. I sent you a direct message containing EXTREMELY important (but 100% spoiler-free!!!) information about the movie that will be watched after the tv-series. I wanted to share this fact with you guys really quick! And in case you don't personally see it, hopefully a mod can! The "3 episode rule" that everyone is so familiar with in the current era of anime was POPULARIZED by Madoka Magica!!! There were definitely niche areas in the older anime communities that used it before Madoka aired BUT this anime, this silly little magical girl anime, is what BLEW UP the concept of the "3 episode rule" so congratulations! now you know why we still use it today!

THEY WASN'T READY ^_^ Welcome to the anime that created the 3 episode Rule :P. 14:09 mark - That about sums up everyone's face after the third episode, Remember that thing that Arcane did on the third episode? They only adopted what Madoka mastered. You guys have noticed so many hints up til this point. I look forward to your reactions. Here are a few freebie hints (not spoilers): There is a reason each witch looks drastically different and the settings all look so different. Madoka Magica is one of the greats for a reason, May you enjoy your journey through this warm darkness. May it be filled with Blessings and Curses.

Why do you question Kyubeys cold eyes towards Mamis death? That poor creature cant do anything for having eyes like that. Homuras non emotion towards her death is way colder than Kyubeys eyes in my opinion. Thats something to think about.
