Do you think it's completely obligatory to watch it, before season 4? I haven't seen it myself, and I don't know if I want to invest in it before season 4.

it sets up the main plot of s4, introduces new characters that will appear in s4 and explains the political and social environment s4 will exist in. Technically you can skip but it would be like skipping every MM and Frenchie scenes, not learning they fight supes and why they fight supes and also not knowing the whole compound V plotline before starting s3.
