The finale of book 2 aired on Dec 1, 2006. We had to wait until Spt 21 2007, almost 10 months, for the next one. It was hell.

"Shorter Book" this is not. Book 3 actually has 21 episodes. "Episodes 10 and 13" are both 2-parters, while "Episode 16" is a massive, 4-part finale. Handle it how you want, but I wouldn't be opposed to treating the finale like a movie and having it all in one video. It wasn't just "over the summer," also. The gap between seasons 2 and 3 was almost a full year.

Book 3 is 21 episodes but they combine the 2 part episodes because the names are the same just with part 1 & 2 and the finale is a 4 part that is named the same way so they just combined them and gave them the one name without the parts.

You are correct about the 4 part finale. There is a midseason 2 part, as well as part1/part2 after the midseason 2 part. I'm not trying to be cryptic I just don't want to spoil anything.

This is actually the book I'm least familiar with. As kids in the 2000s we never kept up with "update schedules" and somehow missed this entire book until the finale was announced. The first time I watched this season in its entirety was in my 20s. So yeah, I just had to accept the horror of the end of Season 2 for the longest time as "the end." Unfortunately, this also means you guys are leaving "nostalgia territory" for me, since kid me never got around to Book 3. But it's good to give the 3rd book another go-around.

I think the thing with not wanting to cover his forehead arrow is also like a cultural thing. He’s the last of his people and the last person with that cultural mark, he want to still feel like airbenders are *there* and that they aren’t going to disappear into the history books as an extinct people. In this case, yes I agree he should cover up bc of the fire nation, but in that moment he’s irrational and hurt so I get the frustration from Aang’s side.

Book 3 is actually the longest, in terms of episodes when it aired, books 1 and 2 had 20 episodes and book 3 had 21 episodes

Book 3 is longer, the last episode is made up of 4 different episodes and "The Day of Black Sun" is a two parter

Book 3 is longer than you think! There are 2 two-parter episodes, as Netflix has formatted it, plus the 4-part series finale :) Plenty of show for y'all to enjoy! Can't wait for this conclusion. You're going to have an amazing time

seeing Katara upset hits even more knowing the fact that she left Sokka to go see their dad first, despite holding all these feelings.

I totally forgot Yuuei aided Aang in this episode. The Moon was the first waterbender and the Moon and Ocean spirits work together, so Yuuei calmed the ocean for Aang in the storm and sent a wave to help him find that little island. I love the continuity and recurring characters!
