I love how Gaang and Team Avatar are canonical because of this episode. Also, The Fearsome Foursome, the questionable slurry, the phallic jokes of the drill. This whole episode just challenged that TV-Y7 rating

I've seen a lot of people in the fandom refer to the crew as the Gaang which is the quickest way imo to refer to them. This is one of my favorite episodes of book 2.

In the previous episode, The Serpent's Pass, Suki says that the Fire Nation controls the Western lake and is working on something BIG there that they don't want anybody to know about. The Drill is that something big. They basically built it just down the block and around the corner from Ba Sing Se so it didn't have to travel very far.

Zuko chooses not to rob the man bc he was with a pregnant woman in Zuko alone, then the Gaang help the same couple through the Serpents Pass, and then Zuko and Iroh sit next to the couple and Iroh calls the baby handsome. Continuity be crazy
