To this day, Aang crying still makes me tear up

Sydney Horton

BTW, Are you skipping Ducktales this week? We'll understand if somethings need to be put on hold. We love you Seeohnee.

Trevor Barnes

Back in season 1, commander zhao said he stumbled upon a library where he found out the identity of the moon spirit (the fish in the oasis in the North Pole) and he knew he was meant to slay it. Zhao was the guy it showed in the flashback and he most likely burned the information on the fire nation. You might have already put that together but it is cool that the series is so well thought out

This isn’t a spoiler but in the comics set after this show we meet someone who gets airbender tattoos and theres a big discussion about cultural appropriation, its really good, you guys should check them out when you’re done with the show Edit: just realised that was about real life and yeah people definitely do

Wheelmagic

Aye, Shout out to all my left handed peeps! we shall unite! lol

Destiny

The next few episodes are about to be litty 😩🔥 can’t wait

Thine Tiny Equine

Loved this episode to death. Also, I do wanna say Aang's tattoos are actually tattoos. That's never really said in the show, only implied. Airbenders are given them as proof that they have mastered the element. One must master all 36 levels, or master 35 and invent a new move. Aang did the latter and invented the Air Scooter.

Last book I read..... depends on how literal you mean 'read' given audio books. So, actually read read, Brandon Sanderson's Secret Project #2 that just got released at the start of the month. Audio book too, did a start on a Cosmere re-read with Elantris. And now begin the arc of pain.....

Hey Boom, Seeohknee, I'm left handed too 🤣 growing up school always tried to get me to learn right handed. Never did. Last book I read, I'm still reading The Last Wish from the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski

I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the thing I find so impressive is we get to see just how strong Toph is. That library sunk in moments after she let go, they are alive and were able to get the information about the solar eclipse because she held the library up. So the unacknowledged MVP is Toph. To be fair I don't think there is an episode going forward after she was introduced where she wasn't the MVP.

William Timmins

Wan Shi Tong is voiced by Héctor Elizondo.

Trinity D. Law

Toph held up a massive library by herself standing in sand!!! Strongest earthenware alive!!!

Aang's arrows aren't "Avatar tattoos"; they are Air Nomad tattoos that signify his rank of Master. Only Master airbenders get them, and only when they achieve the rank of Master. That;s why none of the other airbender kids in his flashback had them. Aang was the only one with tattoos because he was the only one who had achieved the rank of Master at such a young age. FYI, the Air Scooter is the move that Aang invented as a sort of "thesis" to earn Master rank. EDIT: OK, I now realize you are talking about people IRL getting the arrow tattoos. Carry on.

hurryupmode

Ahh yes, the (first?) mention of the Lion Turtle.

TheGofenex

I remember i was caught up when this episode came out and it fucking broke me when Appa got bisonnapped

I know as a kid, this episode creeped me out watching it. Mostly the owl cuz of its doubled voice. But yeah Aang really finds ways to disrespect himself being the Avatar by just lying to spirits after saying he can be trusted because he's the Avatar. If I had to guess, this spirit owl(forgot name), Wang Shi Tang or something, maybe had a good experience with a previous Avatar and was willing to trust Aang here at first because of that. Otherwise I don't know how being a bridge of worlds would matter too much. Lots of spirit world stuff to get into there.

The show does mention the arrows as tattoos. One example I can think of is in bbook 1 "the storm" the old man says, "boy with tattoos? airbending tattoos. Well I'll be a hogmonkey's uncle."

SweetCandle

Just to add a little extra context, in Chinese tradition, the word for 10,000 is also used metaphorically to mean infinity so "He Who Knows 10,000 Things" is basically "He Who Knows All Creation."

I don’t know if y’all will see this but recent

Shane Wilson

silver member found y’all on YouTube randomly and shot over here after hearing your 10/10 pitch for joining patreon LOVE to see you guys watching this show I haven’t seen it in a while so I’m rewatching with you guys and I’ve gotta say, it’s great to hear different opinions, takes, and theories! Don’t worry about pausing too much it’s what makes you guys different from other “react” channels we get to hear actual reactions and thoughts instead of blank stares as the show is playing in the background. If you guys are willing to hear me out on a show suggestion I’m sure myself and many others would agree with me. HAVE to watch “Assassination classroom” anime, 2 seasons (if I remember correctly) one of the best endings I’ve seen.

Racer D. Ratt

Last books i read were the Avatar Kyoshi novels. They are AWESOME and really build the world lore

I think an important small detail is that the Proffessor said "I spent my entire life searching for this place." Id like to think that as for his dedication for knowledge and preseving it, on his death he would be reincarnated as a fox helper

VexxarSentai

reactions be slaying keep up the awesome work XD i dont think ive ever stepped foot in a library in my life lol

Chelsea Williams

Toph is a beast. Yet it takes 5 earth benders in the movie to move a rock, love to see these guys react to nostalgia critics comments on the movie.

Gestrid

Admiral Zhao has actually been to the library before. He mentions it in the season 1 finale, saying he'd found a hidden library. It's where he discovered that the water and moon spirits had crossed over into the physical world and that they could be killed. (This is mentioned in the "previously on Avatar" for this episode, by the way.)

Gestrid

The first mention, yes, but not the first time it shows up. One of Aang's final opponents in "The King of Omashu" wore a pauldron representing the head of a lion turtle. That's the first time it shows up.

Monkey D. Moritz

Idk exactly when a certain object appears for the first time it might be in tonight’s two episodes. But please go back to the engineering guy in the air nomad village from the first season and look at his sketches afterwards. They really planned all this stuff out early on. Also I’m sure you’re gonna know what object im talking about when you see it

Carson Spinks

By far, one of my favorite episodes. As a kid this was the episode that sold me on the series. I had watched a few episodes as it was coming out but once I saw this one I knew that I had to catch the episodes coming up on TV. There is a PS2 game I played as well that has a level that takes place in this place and its so cool.

Amy Petty

I'm going to be That Person and point out that the whole thing about the burning of the Library of Alexandria is a complete and total myth. It stems from Carl Sagan who, frankly, categorically did not know WTF he was talking about. First off, the library in question was NOT some great marvel of the world. It was one of countless libraries. Secondly, it did burn at some point, but there was nothing particularly catastrophic about it. Thirdly, there was virtually NOTHING in that library that was precious, irreplaceable knowledge not found anywhere else. Anything that was permanently lost was almost certainly NOT some precious artifact but probably pertained to local bookkeeping records. Those things are the actual facts. The vast majority of works kept at that library had duplicates at MANY other libraries, so there was no great loss of knowledge to the world, and certainly no apocalyptic loss that somehow set humanity back such that we'd have reached the stars by now.

Amy Petty

I kind of figured that would be the case. "He Who Knows Ten Thousand Things" clearly carries the same sense of meaning as "There's millions of 'em!" It's obviously not meant to be literal, just a bit of metaphorical hyperbole to indicate something too vast to count.

Lukas

"who, frankly, categorically did not know WTF he was talking about" - but you do? You state quite a lot of stuff as though it was factual, when in my experience such statements could at best be made as educated guesses based on whatever sources there might still be available from that time.
