The Ruby with the gem for an eye is a different Ruby from the original Ruby triplets. Gems don't choose where their gems are on their body. They just show up on a random location when the gem originally forms and that's that. It just happened that ruby and sapphires' gems were on their hands. Almost as if by fate they were made for each other. Metaphorically of course.

Enjoyed your guys reactions! Only note I'd say is that gem positions do not change, they remain where they are since conception. I'm not sure where that idea came from, but hopefully it's not annoying to correct it.

I'm really excited... Season 3 is hands down the Best Season in all of Steven Universe (without counting Future), not only that but next week they're gonna react to arguably the Best Episode in the whole show. Also I'm just noticing this now.... But the dialogue said by Peridot and Steven in Barn Mates about Camp Pining Hearts's Season 5 being "Trash" is kinda hilarious considering that Season 5 of the show is labeled as the most flawed or just downright "bad" by the fandom (me included). Fun Fact about Episode 3 "Same Old World": it turns out that the storyboard artists in charge of this episode decided to implement a fun gimmick in it..... Which consists of drawing Lapis and Peridot's hair bigger than normal. If you guys look closely you will notice that the hair of those 2 characters grow in size as the episode progresses...... Which is most noticeable in the final scene where they're together.

I love how the show is never afraid to show the uglier parts of how trauma affects people. Lapis lashing out at Peridot like that sucks but it’s something that happens with trauma

I am rather curious how you're going to handle Season 5 of Steven Universe because Hulu only goes up through Season 4. Just putting that out there so you guys can address that ahead of time instead of hitting a "cross that bridge" scenario.

This episode is what started my Peridot and Lapis shipping phase. And tbh it never ended they're just so cute together, platonically or otherwise. Though I do see why some people ship Peridot with Amethyst~
