Hello, my Unstoppable Patrons! I'm excited to share a guide for one of my favorite Marvel characters of the past decade, plus a pilot of a new style of blog post aimed specifically at folks who love figuring out how to map collected editions.

Plus, powered-by-Patrons but available for all readers:

This Unstoppable Wasp guide is in my "every issue summarized" format, which will help you figure out which of Nadia van Dyne's issues are must-reads and which are skippable. Before working on the guide I had I lost track of how often she appeared with the Avengers. She's with them for over 30 issues!

The Champions and Excalibur guides are now updated through their recently-solicited collections. Both of them are newer guides, so neither required a complete rebuild from scratch! I revised both with several new collections and reading order improvements.

The "Math & Maps" post is my pilot of rebooting my old-school "What's Left to Collect" omnibus mapping posts that brought many readers to CK in 2017. If you like it, please comment either here or on CK. Posts like this are fun to write, but they still take up time I could be spending guide-making. If there is no audience for them after a brief trial run I won't continue them.

I have launched 19 Guides to you in the past 365 days - 15 Marvel and 4 DC! Plus, I've also made 14 significant updates to existing guides.

To see new guides announced as they happen, keep an eye on the CK homepage.

When you visit a Patreon guide you should be prompted to log in to CK using your Patreon login. If you aren't prompted when visiting a guide page, try visiting the CK login page directly.

Behind-the-Scenes Krisis

I know this is a smaller guide that might not be on many of your radars, but sometimes I need a smaller guide while I am working on a bigger guide.

The Champions guide is a great example of that. While it's handy to have a guide to The Champions as a series, what's really useful is that I can link back to it whenever Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, Nova, and now Unstoppable Wasp appear in a Champions title. It's the same reason I launched Heroes for Hire along with Black Cat and JSA with Doctor Fate.

I have two other guide updates upcoming with characters who made appearances in Unstoppable Wasp. Also, having a Wasp guide on the site will give CK a significant boost in search traffic during the release window of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania.

(Also, Unstoppable Wasp is a perfect comic to read with 7-10YO kids in your life!)

Right now I am slightly ahead on posts and guides, which is a rare and beautiful thing. I'd love to be a WHOLE MONTH ahead so I can confidently provide teasers on what's to come and have a schedule that's more resilient to outside influences. We'll see if I can figure out how to make that happen.

After another 1-2 periodic Patreon updates I plan to settle down to updating you no more than once weekly. I don't know about you, but I can barely keep up with the inundation of newsletters and campaign updates in my inbox. I'd rather know you are all reading CK's main page and seeing these new guide updates as soon as they happen!

Teases of what's coming soon: another bug guide, another X-Guide update, and another young character guide goes public. Any guesses?

Question Time: Do you like the massive, every-event-ever style of the Guide to Marvel Universe Events?

I am considering different options for the best way to update that page.

One option would be to only summarize the main omnibus or OHC of an event on that page, but then give each event title its own guide page for full reading order and tie-ins.

Another option would be to break the page into decades or Marvel Eras so it's not so long and heavy to load.

Your opinions matter! You are the heaviest users of the site. Speak now so I don't change something you love by mistake 😉

And, as always, I want to know which guides you want the most. Claremont X-Men update, revised X-Men Reading Orders, GI Joe, and Superman are all on my list.

Love the blog Peter. Hope to see a second to accompany the recent Excalibur or Cable guides!

I think that's the trio that will round out this initial pilot! Thank you for all of the advice as I developed it.

You're very welcome! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a major Nadia fan.
