Before I make my pivot back to DC I had a pair of Marvel heroes to launch into their own guides in support of a major guide update I made last week!

I'm continuing my trend of keeping this post shorter with a focus on your benefits and behind-the-scenes news. The previous style of long-form launch essay is linked above.

Behind-the-Scenes Krisis

Part of getting CK back into top shape is being ready for new comic book screen media as it happens. Earlier this month, that meant Sandman. Last week that meant She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters - thanks to her new D+ show.

(No spoilers - I haven't had a single second to watch it yet!)

The She-Hulk guide was one of the guides I launched in the months just before this Patreon campaign started back in 2016. It was one of my earlier guides dealing with a character who made many guest and mini-series appearances. As a result, the guide's format was not up to my current standard - this wasn't just an update, it was a rebuild-from-scratch. More on that in my Update Essay, linked above.

In cleaning up the She-Hulk guide, I discovered that when I built it I crammed a number of semi-related other series into it that didn't have any other home at the time, including Red She-Hulk and Hellcat series where Jen was a supporting character.

Hellcat has been on my to-do list for a while as a character with multiple titles to her name, so I tackled her last week, then added Red She-Hulk in for good measure. Both are in my current Marvel Guide style of "every issue covered + Greatest Hits." I think that really worked well for both characters, who spend a lot of time on-panel without doing anything significant.

(Reading every Hellcat panel was a lot of fun!)

As you will have seen earlier this week, we've got a new Patron's Choice poll. I goofed and set it up to only allow one vote per Patron, which is a bummer, so it's not as tight of a race as the last poll. I prefer when you can vote early and vote often! If you haven't voted yet, you have a few more days - and, remember, runners up matter because I include them in the next poll.

Now it's time to pivot back to DC guides to gear up for the Black Adam movie, plus start working on the next Indie Comics guide in the background of that.

I also need to get into a solid rhythm of updating an existing guide at least once a week to drag more of them into the present day. I'm discovering that's anywhere from a 2-12hr job per guide, depending on if it's a team or a character and how many links it includes. I'm slightly daunted by reforming any of Marvel's big Silver Age characters whose guides include 100s of links, but I've got to tackle them eventually!

Please tell me...

Do you like getting multiple new guides in fewer Patreon posts every month OR do you want a Patreon post for every new guide as it completes?

And, as always, if you have top-requested guides that you want to see me tackle soon or update first, your requests matter the most to me!

(I know GI Joe has been requested a few times, and I have to knock out a few other indie guides before I get there. I haven't cracked how to handle Superman yet, but I know he's a top request as well.)
