Sorry Nick will we get Run BTS today?

Frances

I agree with Nick, sometimes the choreography influences what you think about a song. This is such a fun, energetic song especially when you watch the dance practice or live performance. I highly recommended the dance practice, it’s a lot of fun: https://youtu.be/ncRNKuwOEc0. Looking forward to your reaction to We On.

Love this song, but my favorite track from their 2nd album is "Paldogangsan" or Satoori Rap ... it's a banger and an instant serotonin boost; you should definitely check it out. Here's a live version with Eng Sub: https://youtu.be/b-G1XEdkzxM The boys "battle" in satoori (their local dialects) to compare the rival provinces that they're from.

April Forgue

You have to watch this live it is amazing

REECE

This song is definitely one of those songs where you need to watch it live

This song is just... how can I explain it, ah hell story time, long ass post incoming- Okay, So, way back in 2013 fans- Back then Korean fans were called K-Diamonds and us international fans were named I-Lovelies by the Korean fans. (Some fan groups do this with each other before their group debuts or gives their fans an official name) So, about 30 of us from Debut and a little before use to use Mumble voice chat, we had a group and everything on there, it's how we stayed connected with the friends we made who loved Bangtan. It was also a great way for the K-diamonds in our little group to help translate and share stuff we didn't have access to that they did. By now, I think you guys know that the guys went through some rough stuff at the start and even before they even debuted. I don't like diving into some of the crap I personally saw.. but I'll just say... it was not fun to see. On the side of that though, we, the fans had it rough too. Now, some of us experienced a lot more crap than others. I live in NY and people really didn't give 2 shits what I listened to, I had enough issues being Native lol. But a few of the K-Diamonds we had in our chat.... oh man. We had various age girls and only like 2 boys but still, Out of the two boys, the youngest one was 14 at the time and he told us, or rather, one of the other K-Diamonds translated for us that He got sent home early because he was beat up at school. Apparently, some kids saw he had a BTS mini poster on the inside of his notebook and they ripped up his notebook and beat him up. We had a 16 year old girl who told us her parents were thinking of moving because the girl was getting threatened and anytime she had anything BTS related, even if she just doodled the bulletproof vest symbol on a notebook, some girls at her school would steal it and rip it up. Fans had it rough, I think younger fans had it really rough. I was in my late teens and in college and I didn't really care, but from the stories I heard at that time.. and continuing even to like 3 years ago. I was one of the lucky ones. But back then, this song released and these moments that these younger ARMYs had experienced, the pride that we felt collectively because here was Bangtan making a statement with this song. They're going to Rise, this is the Rise of Bangtan, no one can stop it, so get your asses hyped up because there's no breaks on the Bangtan train. Even to this day, whenever Bangtan wins an award, or break a record.. THIS is the song that plays in my head and I immediately turn it on and get hyped. I'm sure there's many more who have had those kinds of experiences and this song does the same for them. I know for the group of ARMYs I still keep in touch with... this was THAT song for us. Forgot to add that 'Paldogangsan' AKA Satoori Rap and 'My City' are two other fun hype/pride songs for BTS. I hope you react to them at some point. Oh and the live performances of this song are always great. Thanks again 💜

Thank you ARMYnotArmy for telling yours and others stories of the earlier times being a fan of BTS. I have learned what BTS had experienced and, unfortunately still experience but didn't know the details of what veteran ARMY went through. You all are truly loyal, dedicated ARMY. I am so glad to be a part of this fandom/family. I still feel like baby ARMY because I found BTS in late 2019 and I'm 53 years old and love the fact that we are of all ages and backgrounds and ethnicities. Borahae!

Great reaction and love yall analysis! 🔥 💜

ARMYnotArmy

Thank you for your kind words! I don't like to bring up the past much, because I'm not trying to make it sound like 'oh poor us back then.' ARMYs are still going through crap now, and now we have more corporate people trying to shut us up. Baby ARMY or not, doesn't matter. Loving and supporting Bangtan, being you and enjoying life, that's what's really about. 13, 33, 53. or even 93 years old. It's just a number ARMY fam 💜

Thank you for sharing your experience as a veteran ARMY. Like most baby ARMY, I wish so could have discovered BTS earlier, to support the boys. Knowing this history is important though … it really helps people understand why ARMY is so defensive and protective of the boys and each other. I'm just speculating, from what I've seen/heard, but it’s interesting how the hatred towards BTS/ARMY was fired by completely different motives on the Korean and International sides. On the Korean side, it seems it was coming from fans of the big 3 companies, the more established groups that saw BTS as a threat; whereas on the International side, it was more a case of the fringe nature of Kpop and the racism/stereotypes people have. I could be wrong, though, so please tell me if I am. Regardless, I think anyone jumping into the Cyphers or trying to understand ARMY, needs to know some of this history. XCeleste’s BTS Hardships is a good place to start, but veteran ARMY stories shed amazing insight too.
