Colette, do you not understand the concept of shinobi? The White Fang lived during a time of war, when The Leaf and The Sand were on opposite sides. It was his mission to kill them.

I think it's a case where she doesn't see the Leaf as ninjas but rather as heroes. But to other villages even Naruto is a potential enemy. The show only shows one perspective so if you aren't a keen observer you probably wouldn't think about things a certain way
