I love Kurama! Also, I just want to preface without mentioning too much that mangaka back in the 90s really took the whole weekly thing as just that. They wrote stories with ideas that were later refined, so sometimes the characters can seem like they were written to only appear once, because it wasn’t always certain how the audience would react to them. New gen anime/manga has an advantage in that sense because they can see these minor flaws and correct them for their own stories (on top of their deadlines not being as intense as back in the day). It’s also really cool to see how these older character designs inspired a ton of new manga artists. Hiei was the design inspiration for Sasuke, Black clover villains/asta, and even feitan from HxH.
