🦖🛡️⚔️ In an era long forgotten, when ancient and colossal creatures roamed the earth and battled for supremacy, there existed a tribe of warrior-smiths. They were known for their prowess in crafting armaments from the remains of the fallen beasts, and the Cretaceous Juggernaut is a relic of their ingenuity—a half-plate armor forged from the bones and scales of the mightiest dinosaurs. 🦖🛡️⚔️

Cretaceous Juggernaut

Armor (half plate), legendary (requires attunement by a fighter)

Renowned for its striking triceratops heads on the shoulders. Forged in a bygone era, this armor resonates with the might of the cretaceous period, calling forth the power of the dinosaurs that once roamed the earth.

While wearing this armor, you gain a +3 bonus to AC.

When you enter combat wearing this armor and roll initiative, consult the unmodified d20 result to determine one of the following effects, which begins on your first turn and lasts either until its specified duration concludes or combat ends, whichever comes first:

1-4: Ankylosaurus's Stand - Your skin toughens akin to this dinosaur's famous armored hide, granting you the following benefits for the duration of the combat:

  • You gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Constitution modifier.
  • Enemies that hit you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 17) or be knocked prone.

5-8: Velociraptor's Frenzy - For the duration of the combat, you gain the following abilities:

  • You can use a bonus action to make two additional attacks with your melee weapon, mirroring the Velociraptor's swift and multiple strikes.
  • Your movement speed increases by 15 feet, and you can move up to your speed as a reaction when a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against you.

9-12: Pterosaur's Flight - You gain the following benefits for the duration of the combat:

  • You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed, as ethereal wings reminiscent of a Pterosaur manifest from the armor. While airborne, you gain advantage on melee attack rolls against creatures that are not flying.
  • Once per combat, as an action, you can unleash a screeching cry. Each creature within 30 feet that can hear you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 17) or become frightened for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

13-16: Triceratops' Charge - For the duration of the combat, you gain the following enhancements:

  • You gain the ability to perform a devastating charge. If you move at least 20 feet straight towards a target and then hit it with a melee weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 2d8 piercing damage. Additionally, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 17) or be knocked prone.
  • Your armor becomes even more formidable. You gain a +2 bonus to AC against ranged attacks, as the triceratops' frill-like extensions on the armor deflect incoming projectiles.

17-20: Tyrant King's Dominion - It grants you the following abilities for the duration of the combat:

  • As a bonus action, you can polymorph yourself into a Tyrannosaurus Rex, retaining your intelligence, wisdom, and charisma scores. In this form, you gain all the physical stats and abilities of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. This transformation lasts for up to 10 minutes, or until you lose concentration. You can revert to your normal form as a bonus action.
  • Once per combat, while concentrating on the Tyrannosaurus Rex form, you can unleash a fearsome roar as an action. All enemies within a 60-foot radius must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 17). On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened and paralyzed for 1 minute. The affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with a success ending the effect.
  • While in the Tyrannosaurus Rex form and maintaining concentration, once per turn when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on your turn, you can take a bonus action to move up to half your speed and make a bite attack.
  • In both your normal and Tyrannosaurus Rex forms, you have advantage on all melee attack rolls against creatures that are smaller than you.
