Heaven's Heel

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement)

Elegantly crafted, these sandals are accentuated with stiff, radiant feathers that trail behind the heel. Touched by golden details, they resonate with a power that seems to hail from the high heavens.

Ascendancy Dance. Once per day, as an action, the wearer can rise 10 feet above the ground and hover there. While hovering, they can move in any direction at their regular speed but cannot rise any higher. This levitation lasts for up to 10 minutes, after which the wearer gently descends to the ground. This property resets at dawn.

Blessed Bound. Three times per day, when the wearer jumps, they can opt to leap an additional 20 feet in the air (either vertically or horizontally), and they take no damage from falling from that jump. Expended uses are restored at dawn.

Path of Purity. While walking, these sandals leave behind a faint trail of shimmering light. This path lasts for 1 minute and sanctifies the ground, turning it into hallowed terrain. Fiends and undead have their speed halved while on this trail and take 2d8 radiant damage if they start their turn on it.

Sentience. Heaven's Heel possesses the spirit of an ancient aerial creature, characterized by its free-spirited nature and boundless curiosity. It has an Intelligence of 13, Wisdom of 15, and Charisma of 14. The sandals can perceive the world through hearing and darkvision up to a range of 60 feet. They communicate with the wearer by inducing feelings of warmth or coolness around their feet.

Personality. Heaven's Heel carries the playful essence of the wind, always eager for new experiences and vistas. The sandals encourage exploration and freedom and might become cool and distant if the wearer refuses opportunities to explore new horizons or if they act in a way that oppresses others' freedom.
