🔥📜🌋 Good townsfolk and travelers from distant lands,

It is with a warm heart and a humble spirit that I, Eldric, the old quartermaster of this venerable town, wish to share ancient lore that has long been guarded within the vaults of our chronicles. As the cool winds of autumn make their presence known, allow me to reignite the fires of yore and reveal to you the mysteries of the Fire Domain Clerics.

In the days of old, when our world was young, and magic ran as freely as the rivers, the gods of fire beheld the potential of humanity. These deities, knowing the dual nature of fire — both as a giver of warmth and a bringer of change — chose select mortals to carry their blazing torch. These chosen were not merely clerics; they were the very embodiment of fire's passion and transformative power. They were the Fire Domain Clerics.

In their veins runs the molten heart of a volcano, and in their gaze, the brilliance of a thousand suns. They are the keepers of rebirth, understanding that just as forests are rejuvenated by wildfires, souls too are reborn from life's challenges.

Tales abound of these clerics tending to sacred bonfires, where the faithful would gather to cast their regrets, sorrows, and pains into the flames, allowing the past to burn away and making room for new beginnings. Many a lost traveler, surrounded by the perils of darkness, would find their way by the guiding light of a Fire Domain Cleric's sanctuary.

And while their power is vast and their presence commanding, it is their spirit — burning with compassion, fervor, and unwavering devotion — that sets them apart. They see fire not as a mere element, but as a living, breathing entity; a testament to life's perpetual dance of creation and destruction.

The Fire domain is often connected to deities of fire, volcanoes, the sun, pass ion, and rebirth. Gods and goddesses of this domain recognize fire's transformative and purifying power, whether it brings warmth and light or destruction.


Domain Spells

burning hands, searing smite

3rd

flame blade, pyrotechnics

fireball, flame arrows

7th

fire shield, wall of fire

9th

flame strike, immolation


Bonus Cantrip

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain the Firebolt cantrip if you don't already know it. This cantrip doesn’t count against the number of cleric cantrips you know.


Heart of Fire

At 1st level, your bond with fire deepens. When dealing fire damage with a cleric spell of 1st level or higher, you can add your Wisdom modifier to one damage roll of that spell.


Channel Divinity: Flame's Protection

Starting at 2nd level, use your Channel Divinity to surround yourself or another creature in protective flames. As an action, choose a creature within 30 feet. For 1 minute, the chosen creature is encased in flames. Any creature that ends its turn within 5 feet of the shielded creature takes fire damage equal to your cleric level.


Conflagrant Surge

Starting at 6th level, your bond with the element of fire allows you to tap into its explosive nature. As a bonus action, you can invoke this power to make your next damaging cleric spell of 1st level or higher that deals fire damage explode with added intensity.

When you do so, the spell's fire damage is maximized, turning all its damage dice rolls into their highest number.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain expended uses after you finish a long rest.


Divine Strike

At 8th level, you can infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 fire damage. When you reach 14th level, the damage increases to 2d8.


Furnace Soul

At 17th level, the fiery core within you is so potent that channeling healing energies can reignite lost magical power. Whenever you restore hit points using a cleric spell of 1st level or higher, you gain a temporary spell slot. If you used a spell of 3rd level or lower, the temporary spell slot is of the same level as the spell you used to heal. If you used a spell of 4th level or higher, the temporary spell slot is of 3rd level. This temporary spell slot lasts until the end of your next turn. You can only use this temporary spell slot to cast spells that deal fire damage.
